Will Muschamp updates coming in hot from his weekly press conference. Stay tuned for the fun and the updates.
--Ole Miss at noon against a really good explosive offense. About "as good as they've faced" on the offensive line. Jordan Ta'amu is a really good quarterback and completes a lot of passes vertically.
"A very explosive offensive football team."
Injuries: Dennis Daley (ankle) is doubtful. He's in a boot and will be evaluated as the week goes on but it doesn't look like he'll play. Randrecous Davis (toe) and Chad Terrell (knee) are day to day. Nick Harvey (concussion) and J.T. Ibe (knee) are out.
--The team is still focused on mixing tempo and dictating how fast the game goes. Muschamp said it's about feeling out a game.
--Since the secondary is thin with injuries, it's important to have the younger guys like Jaycee Horn and RJ Roderick be effective. He said those guys, along with Javon Charleston, are getting a lot better with increased reps in practice.
--If Daley isn't able to go, Malik Young would be the starting left guard. Muschamp said it's really good to have a guy like Young, who's played a lot of snaps over his career, to come off the bench.
--It was McClendon's idea to move down from the box to the sidelines and he wanted to on the field with the receivers. Said it will likely be done moving forward this season.
"It's all about seeing the game...I thought he did a really good job."
--Muschamp raves about the Wonnum family and says "thank goodness" for Dylan and D.J.'s parents for producing two really good players and guys with good work ethic.
--In terms of tempo, Muschamp said it helps to run tempo when the team is moving the ball and picking up first downs. It's harder to run the tempo if the team gets a negative play or playing behind the sticks.
--Muschamp breaks down what coaches get on their headsets and it hinges on down, distance, personnel and which hash mark the ball is on. Said Kyle Krantz is one of the best he's been around in terms of identifying personnel.
--Asked about if the SEC can do something about scheduling, said it's hard to schedule when conferences expand. Said he likes certain rivalries (UT/Alabama and UGA/Auburn) to remain.
--Jesus Gibbs will transfer.
--Muschamp said it was good to see Mon Denson produce Saturday. He had a good week of practice and it was good to see from a guy who's battled a hamstring injury.
--Team will stay on their clocks when going to Ole Miss, which is on central time. Said it's beneficial for them because they start meetings at 7 a.m. every day with breakfast at 6 a.m.
--Muschamp said he thinks it might be a two week window in announcing a 12th game. Said Ray Tanner is working "harder than you might think" about getting that game scheduled.
