He was very nice and took the time to talk and take pics with several fans. He also made the trip to Omaha to support the baseball team. With much less fan fare than when Spurrier went.
Give the guy a break. He'll do great in this role. Similar to what he did for Crean to help build Marquette into a powerhouse.
If you want to talk about a coach who is arrogant and doesn't care to spend time with fans, unless he's fundraising, that'd be spurrier.

Encouraging players to leave a program that YOU RUINED after you got canned qualifies you as a douchebag. Having family ties with someone in the athletic department, along with several friends who work within it on various teams over the years, and having spoken with Horn several times, I can tell you firsthand he is a complete dick. He alienated himself from his coworkers, the media, and the fans. Your "fan experience" means absolutely squat.
As far as Spurrier goes, you couldn't be more clueless. As it has been documented many times over, Spurrier is not a big fan of public showings or interactions, he hates doing media type events, and generally tries to stay out of the spotlight. That may come off to some as being "arrogant", but that couldn't be further from the truth. Arrogant when coaching and on the football field? Sure, whatever. What a lot of folks don't know about him (you included), is that he is a family man, and an outstanding, caring individual in general. Having had many a conversation with he and Jerri, the rest of his family, and other coaches within the AD, they will all tell you what a friendly person he is, willing to talk to those who engage him. When I first met him he actually went out of his way to speak to my son, who is 6 years old, just because he saw him with Gamecock gear. But he didn't just talk sports, he asked him how he was doing in school, what he did for fun, etc.
