LT Tolbert's knee--was it a target?

It sure looked to me like Gentleman Tim Corbin had his base runners try to take out Tolbert's knee on slides into 2nd base last night. It happened twice. The first time the guy went in with his knee high and just buckled LT's knee. Corbin then had the audacity to claim that the injured Tolbert was blocking the base path and that his guy should be awarded third.

Corbin is a gold-plated jerk.

How hurt is he?
 
I heard some old-time ball players talk about deliberately getting their spikes up in a man's chest when sliding into a base. They talked about it as though it were routine. Baseball is a rougher game than some people realize - or was.
