Martin picked up a 6' 11" center last night?

For what it's worth, 247sports.com is also saying we've gotten a "hard" commitment from him. Evidently he's not allowed to sign a LOI until April, or something. It does indeed look like a done deal, though I guess I/we could still be wrong

Assuming he doesn't flip, someone will have to transfer to make room for him. I'm betting on Reggie Theus Jr.

Good pickup, a very good recruiting class for where we are as a program. Now we need for Woods to commit the following year.

That statement could be misleading, couldn't it?

JUST WHAT WE NEEDED! A BIG man, with a lot of upside... He has a decent offer list with teams like Tenessee and Iowa St coming after him... Averaged some solid numbers in prep school... Sounds like we are getting a STEAL!! This type of player is the missing link on our roster, and I was wondering if we were going to add any more to this class... Great news!

While at Georgia Prep, he picked up offers from Tennessee, Florida International, Indiana State and Old Dominion He was regarded as one of the top unsigned prospects in Georgia while there. He played his AAU ball for the Atlanta Celtics.
Bunch is the third commitment for the Gamecocks' 2015 class joining 6-7 PJ Dozier and 6-9 Chris Silva.

Sounds like he could be a big impact player.

I wonder how may player Martin can sign? 3? 4?

Strictly speaking, we only have enough roster space for 2. Like I said, I expect Reggie Theus to transfer. I'd say we could sign one more if we really, really wanted to, but we'd have to have another guy transfer (McKie?). I think that's highly unlikely, though, and we'll probably stop at 3.

Frank is trying to get a Seton Hall transfer, but of course that will not count against next year's count, as he will need to sit a year.

Kid has a short film on tos. Looks athletic, confident and seems to have a great understanding of defense. Nice pick up.

Theus is probably gone.

McKie could transfer as well.

Henry, Sheppard, and Blanton also could be possible question marks.

Unless his recovery goes poorly and his career is ended, I expect Blanton to be with the team next year. If not, he still gets a free education from the University.

Henry and Sheppard will almost certainly be back. Henry started for most of the year(wjhy, I don't know, seems like Chat is better in every phase), except when injured or suspended. Sheppard would have played more this year, but he spend the first half of the season injured, and wasn't quite able to catch up to everyone else before being suspended.

I do find myself wondering about McKie, though. Due to his legacy status, I would be inclined to say that he'll stick around for the full four years, but I really don't know. I don't think Martin will ask him to leave, and I don't think anyone else will, either, but if he wants more playing time he'd be better off at a smaller school.

It may be safe to assume as a walk-on B Steele may not have his scholarship renewed either... So goes the life of a walk-on...

I would hate to see Mckie transfer. I want all legacies to stay as long as they want to stay.

He doesn't have an athletic scholarship. Any scholarship he has is purely academic, and will be renewed provided his grades are good. Given that and good health, he'll be back.
