Masters Tickets...

Lost out too! We can't even get practice round tickets! Have gotten practice round tickets one time since they started the lottery. I think they go after folks that live far away so they will come and spend more money at hotels, restaurants, etc.

Interesting theory. Could definitely be the case. The practice round drawing hasn't happened yet though, right?

I've entered the tournament and practice round lotteries every year since they began. Haven't won yet.Moved to Florida from Mount Pleasant three years ago and that hasn't made a difference.

Instead of a free lottery they should charge a nominal sum or something for the chance to get the tickets. That would slightly better the odds and more of the committed fans would get a real shot at them.

Had a friend who got Monday practice round tickets about 4 years ago. Went with him and that has been it. I register in my name, sisters name outside Charlotte, and have friends that register in Mt. Pleasant. Nobody has gotten any. Would be nice to hear that someone around Cola/Lexington has gotten some recently. Guess I will just have to wait for my rejection email in July.

The tournaments only been around a few years, right?

I got practice round tickets about 5 years ago on my first try and haven't gotten them since. This was my first year entering for the actual tournament. I was able to go for several years by luck so I never entered for them.

I applied for practice round tickets when they started the lottery and actually got them the first year.....haven't received them since. I also signed up for Masters Badges about the same time and was told they may reopen it at some point. I received a letter 5 years ago and was informed my name was picked, and I had the opportunity to purchase 2 badges. Obviously, I've bought them every year since then. Just got lucky.

Dang .. missed out again on the lottery for daily tickets. Just can't catch a break. Anyone else get them??

I have been to the Masters several times over the years, I actually prefer the practice rounds. way better than the actual tourney IMO. around 12:30 the older people can't hang and leave in droves, I've never failed at snagging a practice ticket off of an elderly couple who simply can't hang all day. Keep in mind, Masters tickets are illegal to sell, not to give away. Works great, I watch the actual tourney on the big screen in the man cave and I have snagged more autographs and photos that you will ever get going to the actual tourney. You will have just as much fun going to practice rounds, IMO.

I live in Columbia and was lucky enough to win the option to purchase practice round tickets twice - this year (for Monday) and three years ago (Tuesday). Haven't won the chance for the real tourney, but based on my recent experience, it doesn't look like practice round tickets are offered only to folks who live a long way away from Augusta.

I've gone for the Tournament every year since about 1978. I've only been to the practice rounds a few times. You used to be able to drive there and walk up to the gate and pay $20.00 for a practice round ticket.

My buddy and I once got into a heated argument with Johnny Miller during a practice round. He's an ass.

Don't mean to imply that ALL tickets go to out of state folks. I do think more than 50% do...in fact...that has been mentioned in the paper in the past. It helps the economy of Augusta.

I had a friend who lives in Augusta go from the lottery tickets to getting regular tickets. So there is always a chance. I will keep applying.

I missed out again too. 10+ years of trying. :( I have been a few times to the real tourney and a couple of times to the practice round. I had the pleasure of taking my dad a few years before he passed away. It was his dream to walk Augusta National especially after being a golfer for 50 years and loving Jack and Arnie. He got to see both during the practice round in 2003. I recently began registering with my in-laws name, but no luck there either.

This thread points out why I think I'm on to something with the fee. Here we see guys registering their sisters name, in-laws name, their own name, out of state address, etc. Might as well play the real lottery, hope to win and buy after market tickets on StubHub.

I have also been to both and enjoy the practice rounds more, also. The players are a lot more friendly during the practice rounds, and listening to some of the banter between the players is hilarious, sometimes. Watching the "skip" shots on 16 is a lot of fun. Only been to the par three tournament once. It's okay, just like seeing full shots on the regular course.
I use to go and stand at main gate early in the morning and someone would always sell you a practice round ticket for $20. Haven't tried that route since the lottery started. Never have been to tournament without a ticket, but maybe the 12:30 - 1:00 thing might work if I get shut out again this year.

Yeah, the practice rounds are fun but Monday is very light. A lot of guys don't get into town early enough to play. You still get to walk the course but the golfers are mostly the amateurs and first time players.

Received notification yesterday from The Masters we are good for two Sunday Tickets. Unfortunately, of all the days Sunday doesn't work for me.. Would be willing to trade if anyone has Thur, Fri, or Sat....
