Men’s basketball

COD - We're still not halfway through the SEC season so we'll see how it plays out.

Men's college sports is in a different era now.

Teams now have players that are only at a school for one year.

Most of the players that took us to the NCAA Tournament last season were only on the team for one season.

Missouri went 0-18 in the SEC last season.

This season they are doing what we did last season.

They are 17-4, close to the top of the SEC standings, and ranked #20 in the country.

It's not a 4-year environment anymore.

It's more of a lottery environment, so the script can get flipped

Acceptance.
Ward, I love you man (in a Gamecocks Forum MANLY kinda way), but even YOU have to be disappointed with ALL facets of this team, Including Coaching. I feel a good coach, hell, could squeeze out a conference win or two..... Just asking if you are Okay with these results?? Sounds like you are by using the moral victories and building blocks excuse..

What you're saying is that they have ruined college athletics. That's true.

Thanks COD. Sorry I missed this earlier. While I'm sure there could be some improvements in coaching, most players look like they are in good position. We just don't have much talent on the floor at all outside of Boyles. Pringle can have his moments, but he's overall spotty.

We're obviously well out of contention for everything this season so outcomes are a wash now either way. Time to look forward to baseball and hope Paris' patchwork art yearly recruiting pull proves more fruitful next season. Really all we can do.

Tough hoops season. Just hasn't worked out like last year. I wouldn't want to be coaching in this era today. It has to be tough losing many of your players at the end of each season. If Lamont can get us to the post season once every three or four years, I'll be happy. That would be as good as we've ever had.

Looking more and more like it ACTUALLY may be a winless SEC team?? Has that ever happened in men’s basketball?!

I think we'll get a win or two before season's end as the competition finally starts to cool a bit.

On top of having mediocre talent - we've played an absolutely brutal schedule.

9 of the 12 games have been against ranked teams.

The SEC current has the Top 3 teams in the country, 4 of the Top 5, and 9 in the Top 25.

We've played most of them. Some twice.

The sad part is that we are just not competitive. I scratch my head at how we were able to beat Clemson and nobody else.

I’ve traveled down for three games - Clemson (win), PC (win) and Mississippi State (loss in OT). Maybe they ought to give me a ticket since we play well when I’m there. 🥴 Maybe we can beat Arkansas but I doubt the rest. I thought after the Clemson win that we were getting it together and might finish in the middle of the league. Not so. I’ve watched almost every game on TV. We lack a lot of things that make a good team.

At least we still have the womens team...oh wait, forget it....

I watched the Trump/Musk interview on Fox at 9:00. I then flipped over to our game and caught the halftime score. I immediately flipped back to Fox News and watched Gutfeld. I've seen enough Gamecock beatdowns for a while.

Just asking ...... How many MBB players returned from last year's team?
