Please let me know when it's socially acceptable to hold Frank Martin accountable. Not quite sure how long he gets a pass for the following excuses. Injuries, COVID, rebuilding.....

Time for Frank to go… two years ago. Take Little ray t with him.
Tanner's not going anywhere until his current contract is up.....unless you want to chance losing some of our largest athletic boosters. After his current contract, he will be a good ambassador for the school's athletic department.

It baffles me that so many people don't understand this.

So the BoT made a horrible hire with little Ray as AD. Now people think he is such a fantastic fund raiser wit no evidence to back it up. If you want to keep ray move him to an ambassador position to raise $. Get a real AD in to clean up the mess.

You need to learn a whole lot more about Tanner and all that he has accomplished while acting as AD.

I could say the same to you. You need to educate yourself about the athletic department and how it runs.

Interned in 2 athletc departments while in grad and law school. And have been in meetings with Tanner discussing potential donations to the athletic department with a few clients. Also been to a few gatherings of donors where he attended.

Don’t want to pick a fight since you are obviously a big Tanner supporter. My neighbor was on the BoT when ray was hired. I get my info from him. Let’s agree to disagree.

Mrs. Tanner......is that you?

Middle school expectations of a major Power 5, SEC athletic director are more sad.
Fine. You can continue to be chicken little but Tanner is not going anywhere until his current contract expires....unless you want to chance handicapping a the new AD.

You have stated this "he isnt going anywhere until his contract expires" BS on here hundreds of time. As if that should shield him from all the criticism from Gamecock Nation. It doesn't and it will continue from all of us who have higher expectations of our athletic department.

You only harp on the Muschamp hire. He runs everything else very well.

And there has never been an AD who didn't make a bad hire....so you are jawing about something no one else has accomplished.

Where do I "harp" on the Muschamp hire?

Gamecock mens basketball = total dumpster fire
Gamecock baseball = a shell of what it once was
Gamecock football = very recently hit rock bottom under RT and yet to see where it goes

These are the three marquee mens sports. Review their records over the last 5 years....especially vs Clemson.

Men's basketball....he didn't hire the coaches and FM would have been gone last year until Caslen screwed it up with the legislature.he

Baseball coach hasn't been here long enough to make any determination, though he has taken us to a regional and a SR in his three years here and his recruiting classes have been as high as Tanner's were. Holbrook was the hottest baseball coaching assistant around when we hired him.....no one would have not handed him the job as we didn't win our 2 baseball championships until he became an assistant.

Football.....well we struck out on our top two candidate because other bigger programs came through at the last minute to take them away....especially on Smart. BTW Spurrier endorsed the Muschamp hire. FYI...Caslen also vetoed paying the Muschamp buyout, which resulted in Tanner having to raise the funds for the buyout from private donors....otherwise Muschamp would still be here. You can find the article on this and FMs buyout in the P&C.

But all that is only a very small part of the AD responsibilities.....very small.

^^^^Ray Tanner excuse machine in action.^^^^

It true......do some research before you spout off.

They did teach you how to research in college, right?
Yes, I can do research and here is some for you......

Over the last 10 seasons (RT's reign as AD) here is how our 4 major mens sports have fared against our chief in-state rival Clemson.

Football - 2-7 (DNP in 2020)
Men's Basketball - 3-6 (DNP in 2020)
Baseball - 5-5 in season series
Men's Soccer - 2-8

But you clearly are not tired of losing so keep carrying Tanner's jock.

Wow...guess Wikipedia is your research friend. Basic but yes I know that.

I would love to have seen how much #24 could have developed with proper coaching, different system. Franks doghouse absolutely sucks. Me thinks Keyshon had the stuff. He barely sees the court now. Raw talent, he has come along even without his coaches support.

I've renewed this thread as it seems so little interest in mens bball that even a game thread is not opened.

I think that may be the best first half of basketball I've seen out of the team this year. At least against decent competition.

Not bad, my main concern was Pippen Jr, he was held to only 2 points and he didn't have a million trips to free throw line off the free throw like he usually does. If we can play disciplined for another 20 minutes I like our chances.

Good win! Horrible play by Pippen Jr. What was he thinking??
You’d think the son of a Hall of Famer would be coached better. Whether he thought the guy was there or not, he was at a point where he had to shoot or it was over.

Lack of clock awareness is an issue across the board in todays game.

Good. The SOB gets a foul anytime when somebody looks at him hard
Considering how often he gets to the line and how well he shoots it, I'm shocked he didn't attempt to take a shot knowing there would be an overwhelming chance he gets the whistle.
