He's not the only crazy person out there. He's just crazier than anyone else.
How crazy is he though? While it may not make it to 64, it certainly won’t stop at 12.
Don't tell Dabo. He might have a meltdown if he has to play more than a couple games that border on difficult every year
Why not just let everyone in? There’s only 130 teams. It would only add one round and one play-in game to Leach’s insane fantasy.
On the bright side....at least we would make the CFP every year. Yay!!!!
I've been a fan of an 8 game playoff since the beginning. I think you automatically put the 5 conference champions from each of the P5 conferences in, a deserving non-P5 team like Coastal or UCF who would never get a chance in a 4 team playoff even when they go undefeated, and two at large bids from your better conferences.
Eight teams is enough, no byes. P5 conference champs and 3 at large bids, but nobody asked me what I think.
Does he also think the basketball tournament should have 164 teams? Because that's what it looks like when you let 49% of the teams in the tourney.
The NBA (53%), NFL (44%), NHL (50%) and MLS (52%) say hello.
I've been against a CFP from day one and would be the last to advocate for an expansion, but there is plenty of precedent for playoffs in which about 50% of the teams make the field.
All those leagues have 30 or so teams. You have to let in half the teams or you’d have a two round playoff. That is no bueno for tv revenue.
People who constantly use the pros as a comparison for college sports to emulate remind me of Yankees who move down south away from crappy northern states and then set about trying to transform the southern state into the crappy northern state they left.
