As the South Carolina coaching staff remains on the road conducting visits with commitments and targets from the 2019 class, the staff is also allowed to drop schools and check in on underclass targets.

One significant prospect who would fit that bill in the 2020 class is Hammond's Jordan Burch. Along with defensive line running mate Alex Huntley, both have carried Gamecock offers for some time.

Assistant coach Mike Peterson was by the school on Monday, and you can bet that head coach Will Muschamp will follow up before the open period is over.

USC has also lured North Carolina defensive end Desmond Evans to campus more than once, with strong mutual interest between the two parties. Muschamp was by Lee County High in North Carolina on Tuesday to check up on Evans.

The staff has also had conversations with 2019 OL Steven McKinney from the school, for what we believe has amounted to a preferred walk-on offer.

Offensive coordinator Bryan McClendon was in Tennessee on Tuesday and met with four-star wide receiver commitment Keveon Mullins in his home.

USC's other four-star commitment out of the Volunteer State, defensive lineman Joseph Anderson, was visited by assistant coach Lance Thompson on Tuesday morning.

BUCK commitment Rodricus Fitten tells GamecockCentral.com that he'll take his official visit to Columbia this weekend. As of Tuesday, he had not had an in-home visit with the staff.

Florida head coach Dan Mullen has already utilized his one allowed visit with USC flip targets Chris Steele and Tyron Hopper. On Wednesday, Mullen will use his trip to see defensive back commitment Jaydon Hill, another target for the Gamecock staff. Travaris Robinson, we know, has already been in to see Steele and Hill as well.

Will Muschamp has kept his one allotted visit in his back pocket for all three to date. All three project to sign early. Buckle up for the next couple weeks.
