My Theory on New OC

And yet those same coaches kept trotting out those two injured and recovering RBs while ignoring White and his production for multiple games.
If somebody wants to say we have no players, okay, I'll kinda buy that. Kind of. But we were bad before injuries and after injuries.

Literally, we were one of the worst offenses in the country. People suggesting it was a fluke are kidding themselves.

One of our top returning RBs had off season knee surgery.

Another had back surgery.

We finished the season with our third string QB due to (2) injuries.

Beamer literally kept on coaching and made no excuses.

And now, back to you bitches.

Go Cocks!
I rarely agree with you but you nailed it. They bitched when he was hired and then expect miracles in season one with practically an empty cupboard. You just have to point and laugh at stupidity.

True! No other programs had injuries and no other coaches continued coaching when they had injuries. Amazing.
I think Satterfield needs to go, but in all fairness CTownCock is right.

There isn’t a program of any significance in CFB history that has had a member of the coaching staff step into the starting QB role, much less lead a team to victory with 97 seconds on the clock and no time outs.

What impacts even more is we don’t have the quality depth to sustain a lot of losses. Other SEC teams have the depth to sustain some losses....we don’t.

Well you people aren't satisfied with six wins with basically smoke and mirrors or y'all wouldn't hate on Beamer like you do. What else is anyone to infer?
This isn't a thread about Beamer, bud. It's a thread about Satterfield. And yes, you'll support Satterfield right up to the minute he gets fired (this year or next) and then you'll say he stunk all along.

I'm sure you also loved Muschamp and thought he was great right up until you blamed him for everything.

I have no personal attachment to Satterfield and I'm like most here and think he needs to be replaced post haste.

And all fairness, we don’t know the reasoning behind that.

If.....and I repeat, if...White wasn’t doing what was expected....then not playing him sent a message to the team.

We’ve had way too many guys dog it in the past because they were “better players”.

Sometimes you have to make a sacrifice for the betterment of the team.

I honestly don't care what their reasoning was. I care about the results on game day. And they were terrible on offense.

Besides, Satterfield himself kept saying they needed to get other players (like White) involved. And then those players would disappear for the next game or two.

I agree with you. If there wasn’t a logical reason why guys like White weren’t playing, then that’s on the OC, and replacement should be looked at.

But if White was slacking off at practice, then that might explain his lack of playing time.

If that’s the case, I’m ok with it. Beamer is trying to change a selfish “me first” culture, it might explain why guys didn’t get PT.

I've heard no indication of that. The only things I heard are what I mentioned above. To me, the results point to coaches that can't identify talent and build around it.

I believe you are right that Satterfield needs to be replaced. It's nothing personal against him. He never produced even a 400 yards Total Offense season as OC at Temple in 3 years. This year's offense was awful. If he had a history of success as OC, I'd give him a pass regarding this season. But, there's no evidence that he is OC material. I'd hate for Shane to put his HC career on the line by again giving him the keys to our offense. I really, really like our DC Clayton White. I'd like to see someone of equal competence at OC.

Well, Bobo just lost his job for averaging 401 yards and 29 points per game. Now he had more to work with at Auburn than Satterfield did here, but Satterfield didn't excel at his other FBS stop, either.

There could be a change this weekend if you go by what was said on the jb and goldwater show today, yesterday now. the last 5 mins of that show was gold imo.if they could pull off on what was suggested, i would be very happy.the interview with Keith Allsep was pretty darn good.

I want to preface this by saying that I am by no means an insider, this is just my personal opinion…

I think that Sat is essentially gone and the official announcement has not been made yet. With that being said, I think the reason why it has not been officially announced is that the person that Beamer wants to hire still has games to play. To me, that guy would be Barry Lunney Jr at UTSA.

I know the big name right now for many is Zach Kittley at WKU and while I would personally not be opposed to that hire, I think that doesn’t fit what Beamer likes. Beamer has directly stated on multiple occasions he likes to have the ability to line up and run the ball and make the other team stop your physicality which wouldn’t fit the bill under the air raid.

Lunney’s system fits the bill of what Shane would want in my opinion with a physical style of offense that is also balanced. He runs a power spread scheme that is reminiscent of Oklahoma. The UTSA offense is up to 30th in the nation right now after being close to the bottom before Lunney arrived. He is also a good recruiter.

Again, I have no inside info and this is just what I’ve pieced together from what I’ve seen and heard on the boards.
There will be no change at OC...mark it down. If it was happening, it would have already happened. Plenty of photos on social media this week of Beamer and Satterfield on the recruiting trail together.

I really think the offensive woes are more at the feet of OL coaching then overall coaching and scheme, so I'm not on the "Satt must be fired" train, but if we make the move I like this scenario.
Don't disagree with the OL coaching issue, but my problem is our OC is essentially an OL coach and the OC determines the blocking scheme he wants the OL coach to teach to successfully run his offense....or he should be.

I tend to agree. Beamer can literally say that our running backs were injured, we were transitioning to a different blocking scheme, our perceived starting QB was injured, Muschamp didn't leave any wr's worthy of scholarships, and that despite all that they are going to a bowl. Ray will eat it up like a catfish.
???? What does Ray have to do with assistant coaching decisions? McGee didn't force Brad Scott to get rid of his DC.....but SCOTT's decision on keeping him eventually cost Scott his job. It's just not what an AD does.

Well, I'd say this much: if an AD feels compelled to get involved, it's because something has gone wrong and is continuing to go wrong.

I have never known one to do so at that level unless you have a Baylor/PSU -type issue. If it is simply a coaching issue, you simply fire the HC and start over.

Start at the 2Hr6min mark but the whole interview is good. There is a couple of good nuggets of info in this video.I’ll have to go find where he was talking about the oc situation this weekend.Mike Morgan’s interview is good as well.If you like college football, this was a very entertaining show. The gamecock portion starts at 1hr40 min mark. 1hr47 is another good point.

He's rumored to be in the running for the head coaching job at Jacksonville St.
