after all, the call to give ND the ball back with 1 second left pretty much = giving UK the ball anyway.

But why wait? You know they're gonna run the clock down before either taking an open shot on the perimeter or driving the lane, which was the best call because it raises the odds of drawing a foul.

ND would have been better off fouling with 20 or so seconds and forcing UK to make 2 FT's, then having enough time to at least get the ball down the court, calling a time out and having a chance to tie the game. And who knows...UK might have missed a FT.

I just hate seeing UK skirt this one, I don't think anyone else has a chance.

It would have been a risky strategy. I wouldn't foul either Harrison. Both have made clutch shots in the tournament before (and Andrew ended up making the winning free throws in this game). Only the Harrison's touched the ball on the final possession, with the exception of Townes, who held it for about 7 seconds. Townes is an 82% free throw shooter. I'm sure that was by design. Calipari knows what he's doing.

Duke could possibly beat them. It brings more money to the SEC if they make it to the finals, though, so it trickles down to us.

True about the SEC, but I hate dynasties...and UK without a doubt is as close as you can get in the NCAA to that when it comes to MBB.

But most of all I'm not a big fan of most pro sports and how their monarchies taking advantage of college athletics. And the NBA is without a doubt the biggest offender. IMHO it slants the playing field and diminishes the sport at the college level.

Not a smart strategy. You want to give the opponent points, when the game is tied? That shows no confidence in your defense or your team. The kids would feel like chit.
