In the last game of my senior year in baseball (high school), my team found itself in a position of needing to win by a certain number of runs to make the playoffs. Win differential was one of the tiebreakers and that's where we were. I think we had to win by 3 runs to make the playoffs.
We were up by either 1 or 2 for three innings in a row and intentionally walked in the tying run in each inning in order to get another shot to get to a three run victory. We got the first two outs in each of these innings before walking every player thereafter until the score was tied. Then we went after the third out. We succeeded in doing this for, I believe, three innings and eventually lost on the fourth try.
Craziest game I ever played in.
