One of the questions I've received from subscribers since Georgia landed five-star QB Justin Fields in whether or not that would change things for USC with WR commitment Josh Vann.
The Gamecocks scored a big recruiting victory when Will Muschamp and his staff landed Vann over in-state Georgia, which had Vann as a big priority in its 2018 class as well. Before making his decision, Vann pointed to Georgia's pursuit of Fields as something that could help the Dawgs' cause.
My information here is that nothing has changed with Vann's commitment and that he appears solid to USC. Vann certainly knew at the time of his pledge to USC that Fields heading to UGA was possible; his comfort level with Columbia, USC's staff, and the way he'll be utilized in the Gamecock offense carried heavy weight for him.
Vann was accompanied by several family members for his last trip to Columbia; the home win in Williams-Brice Stadium over Arkansas.
In fact, per a contact close to Vann, Georgia has "sort of given up" in pursuit of Vann. Vann "absolutely loves" USC, per the contact, and his family is also sold.
