** Ernest Jones on playing in his home state: It's just another game, another big SEC East game. Goal is to win the East and this is an East game.

** Jones on UGA offense: Powerful and physical. Like to run the football to set up the pass. Fromm is an accurate thrower who puts the ball where he wants. He makes good, quick decisions. Have watched him play since high school and you could always tell he's an intelligent guy - he knows where the ball is going in a hurry and has a good feel for the defense before the ball is snapped.

** Jones on if he was a UGA fan growing up? Nah, I didn't like Georgia. (Who did you group up pulling for?) South Carolina... (smiles).

** Jaycee Horn on defending back-shoulder throws, which Georgia runs a lot of: You have to win those reps at the line of scrimmage. If you lose at the line, and then you're chasing the receiver, that's when back-shoulder throws are almost impossible to defend, since your back is to the ball.

** Horn doesn't focus on the fact that Georgia didn't recruit him hard. It doesn't matter now, he's at South Carolina and focused on that.

** Jovaughn Gwyn believes his season has gone well, it was hard coming back from the injury, but Donell Stanley has helped him out a lot with learning the offensive scheme.

** Gwyn on UGA's front: They're big and athletic. They play three-down linemen, but then they shift to four-down sometimes.

** Wide receiver Shi Smith says the focus for the bye week has been on themselves, rather than Georgia, and that the focus for the wide receivers has been on winning more one-on-one battles.

** Running back Rico Dowdle says he's feeling good. He was able to do some things at practice today and was able to get in and run the ball on some plays. He's close to 100 percent now and expects to play this week.

** Dowdle believes he's hitting the hole faster this year. You want to be slow to the hole then fast through it and he believes he's done that. Tavien Feaster is a great back and he's pushed Dowdle and Dowdle has pushed him too.

** Dowdle says that Jeff Dillman gives Thomas Brown some grief about going to UGA. The players don't really bring it up, but they have seen clips of Brown from his playing days at UGA when he was showing them how to do certain things.
