I worry every time I hear “one of the best we’ve ever had.” It just creates false expectations if it goes badly during the first five games, and makes whoever said it look like a liar to the fans. It’s a good way to lose the trust of the fan base. If I was a college head coach I would never say that about any aspect of the game during preseason.
