One family uses pool to save houses in cali

It's the opposite.

South Carolina is the 6th most federal dependent state in terms of residents dependent on money from the federal government.

California is 46th.

South Carolina state government is the 33rd most dependent on federal revenue. California's is 48th.

The average rank for red states is 20th. The average rank for blue states is 30th.

South Carolina is much more reliant on tax money from the federal government than is California.

Nice AI.

What California does is tax the hell out of their residents and then allow their property to burn down because they can't even get the basics from their corrupt leaders.

You should move out there. They love Gomers who blindly hand them money in exchange for virtue.

Trump says it perfectly. Cannot argue with that

Why would those states have needed a bail out if they were prepared?
Wow, common sense is at a loss with you Dems. Watch, the emphasis of the upcoming federal funds will be about not throwing money at a problem if no effort is made to limit future destruction levels. A demand as it rightly should be. I get it though, you guys just like to throw money at problems and move on. That almost never works out well when Dem leadership is the recipient.
It's not about stopping fires just as it wouldn't be about stopping hurricanes. It;s about being as prepared as you can be. Effort for crying out loud. If no effort is put into minimizing damage in the future, as apparently was lacking in the current case, or bad policies by the environmentalists running the state aren't changed, no funds should be available. Blows the mind how common sense escapes you guys..

Wow, common sense is at a loss with you Dems.

Common sense would say they weren't actually prepared because no one can truly be prepared for huge natural disasters.

But you guys aren't interested in real solutions. This is all political theatre for you.

One more time. Read and learn teach It’s called self sabotage. I realize you don’t believe in accountability but it does exist in the real world.

It's honestly wild how easily you guys are manipulated by misinformation.
Your gonna have a rough time going forward teach. The buzzword’s don’t work anymore. Accountability is coming home to roost. Your bubble has burst. Welcome to reality. It truly is a wonderful place to reside if you can get past denial.

Unfortunately, you're going to be the one who feels the impact of this. You just don't realize it.

Looking forward to it teach

Facts. Red wave of common sense is washing over the west coast. Only the most impaired are still clinging to the party of victimhood.

"Louisiana has lost more than 2,000 square miles of its coastline since 1932, according to the state’s own coastal protection and restoration authority. Intense flooding, increasing number and strength of hurricanes and sea level rise have exacerbated the rate of loss of land, including wetlands, along the Gulf Coast. Man-made actions including the cutting of canals, oil spills and levee building along the Mississippi River have also contributed to the land loss per the state's own authority.

Since 2007, the state has spent billions on coastal restoration and projects aimed at reducing the risks of land loss, This includes hundreds of millions of dollars from the federal government.

In 2023, the Louisiana Legislature unanimously approved the latest master plan, which outlined 77 projects costing roughly $50 billion over the next 50 years. This funding comes mostly from the federal government and federal taxpayers.

Louisiana has chosen to still allow massive projects, including homes in flood prone areas as well as areas that have repeatedly been destroyed by hurricanes and tropical storms which have added to the problem of throwing good money after bad"

Hypocrite.

Unlike CA, Louisiana's situation isn't a function of pathetic and possibly corrupt management ("oops - we don't have water for you") along with ridiculous environmental laws that do nothing but promote the problem.

That's a very big distinction.

Below is Trump in 2018 following that blaze telling CA and Newsom to get their act together for the 1000th time.

They've been warned for decades that their ridiculous environment crap doesn't gel with a massive city in the desert with random wind.

Try to stop being a goofball, Dave. AI is not going to save you from yourself.

California and Maui fires were both man made. Arsonist set for land grabs, rezoning laws to be changed etc. both planned and executed by governments and their handlers in charge. Difference between red and blue states are blue states create disaster while red states react to disaster, fix and improve defenses, responses and deterrents making a stronger chance a similar result isn’t repeated. It’s so obvious to see the complete and opposite actions and results play out. Night and day difference

It's honestly amazing someone claiming to be from California doesn't know know that difference between the forests of Northern California and the chaparral vegetation of Southern California...

How does that relate to my post, Troll? I never referenced any of this. Hegseth has plans for you.

Look I live five blocks off the ocean with a tidal creek in my back yard. I need no lecture from you on the role of govt in coastal areas. In SC, much of beach restoration and the likes are necessary because of the decisions the army corp of engineers made decades ago to do things like build jetties and whatnot. In other words, the federal govt caused much of the beach erosion we see today. You are dang right they need to do what they can for these areas. Their fingerprints are all over this.

So can we agree to get rid of private insurers and just have the government take over that function?
You’re hilarious. Burr might let ya open for him. Your gonna need something to do once government isn’t subsidizing your public teach gig any longer.

Must be nice to be able to stick your head in the ground when you're wrong.
You’ve got work to do but if ya fail at stand up you can always go back to a real school and try to learn a trade to make a living. You better hurry though, real schools are staying full. Not much room left but maybe you can get on the waitlist. Good luck to ya! As always my prayers are with you.

PS: perhaps you could head out west and install sprinklers on fire prone rooftops? Just a thought. Trying to help

It’s impressive that billionaires have convinced you to hate people like myself when they’re the ones who have made your life miserable.

I hate no one. Hate is a self destructive behavior, but I pity people like you. I don’t like seeing victims being taken advantage of like you have been. It’s cruel and unfair. I do however think you should be self educated and aware by now and not continue teaching innocent children horrible satanic self destructive views. You’re the poster child for bringing a end to the public school system.

I’m definitely satanic for wanting you to be able to go to the doctor when you need it and be taken care of when your house is destroyed in a natural disaster.

Don’t worry about me I’ll be fine and need nothing from government. It’s the children that need to be taught self reliance and to question everything government related.
