One family uses pool to save houses in cali

The reality is you’re going to need the government more than anyone else. When you become sick the government will take care of you because of people like me @DeeDave who don’t punish the weak minded just because they were wrong.
I wouldn't sweat CocksRule.

It's like the old videos of people holding up signs telling the government to stay out of their Medicare. LOL - 100% morons.

It's mostly jealously. If you actually graduated from college, he's mad at you. It's funny.

You'd miss a bright flashlight in a pitch black cave.

Since Hurricane Hugo hit in 1989, more than 40 beach renourishment projects have been launched in the state, costing federal and state taxpayers over $300 million. For many years, the efforts have not been fully funded by state representatives even though they have known this was needed, relying solely on funds from federal taxpayers. State leaders have also failed to take action to prevent homes from being built in areas prone to severe erosion, or flooding guaranteeing that future funding will be needed when the state experiences storms and further erosion."

Louisiana (Florida too) keeps taking and asking for federal tax dollars for flood and coastal areas - and keeps letting people build there- only to have to rebuild and ask for federal tax money to do it- year after year after year.

hypocrite.

When they stop insuring and bailing people out, people will stop building.

Any parallels with the disastrous leadership and policy in CA (and probably corruption) is just another salary cap moment for Gomer.

Nothing to see here but two guys who have been wrong about almost everything for years on end, high-fiving over their Humanities Degree which has been collecting dust for decades.

Life Is Beautiful. :)

History is going to look back at this time period and be amazed that people convinced themselves of pizzagate, Michelle Obama being a dude, and vaccines causing autism. But those same people find it controversial to say that people sitting on their couch aren’t fire suppression experts.

Wild.

Even wilder living through it

I had a lady try to convince me Pizza-Gate was real just this past week- and that "they" even got to Trump and he helped cover it up when he got into office.

I listened and explained that I was "all ears" if she had any evidence she could provide. I would have been glad to consider it and examine it. She didn't have any evidence to add except telling me she believed it.

Sometimes you have to chalk people up to being nuts- as you do with some on here - and move on.

The problem is back in this day people who talked like that or like Trump does on Twitter, you used to be able to chalk it up to your crazy uncle or aunt with a few felonies and a prescription pill addiction.

Now those crazies are the POTUS and your average Republican voter.

My sister is a nurse supervisor. She had a mom of a patient back when the hurricane was supposed to hit Florida back this past Fall tell her that the government was steering it into Florida to screw up people voting. My sister assumed this was somehow supposed to be about Trump. It wasn't.

My sister absolutely loved this lady's child. That's why she listened to the mom patiently and never responded to her because she feels so sorry for her child and she didn't want to add to any misery.

When the storm mostly missed damaging Florida and hit into upstate South Carolina and western North Carolina she said that the mom claimed the government missed their target, who was supposedly Ron DeSantis- and that they wanted him out of office but had missed with their ability to steer the hurricane and screw up voting for him.

Now, anyone that follows politics a bit knows Ron DeSantis wasn't up for reelection so this theory was dumber than anything possibly could be- but this "mom" thought he was on the ballot for reelection - and had the facts so screwed up it wasn't worth even arguing about.

Those people are out there. Avoid them at all costs. Don't do business with them. Don't be friends. Don't engage.

in fairness, Trump wasn't running around talking about Pizza-gate. Some of his extreme supporters were. But he wasn't.

Now, I do agree that everyone's crazy uncle seems to be the new standard and we hear from those folks an awful lot.

Trump, through this over the top bragging and never apologizing for anything- has led some people to cast a God-like belief onto him. (For most people, they can't stand someone that acts like that- brags all the time- would never apologize for anything at all, But Trump has always had an exemption from them)

Let's be honest, most people can't brag about grabbing a woman's genitals and get away with it - with people cheering them on. Imagine if Trump had bragged about grabbing your wife's crotch or bragged about grabbing your 20 year old daugther's genitals... - You'd explode in rage. You'd want to break any man's face that did such a thing and bragged about it. But with Trump, it has made people like him more - as long as he wouldn't do that to their own loved one.

So many people are looking for a messiah type person to "save them" and for some reason, a lot of people that would have never dreamed of putting a politician into such a perch have done so now. Their faith is now in a politician.

That's also coupled with declining church attendance in the United States and some have speculated that people of all stripes have turned to politicians to fill that role in their lives.
