For some reason many of my favorites are from movies and the versions from the movies.

- Spirit of Christmas (Ray Charles) from Christmas Vacation

- Christmas Vacation (Title Song) ... wish I could find the actual version on iTunes or something

- Mele Kalikimaka (Bing Crosby) ... Christmas Vacation again

- Christmas in Dixie (Alabama)

My favorite Christ-centered Christmas songs are:

- O Come, O Come Emmanuel (Jeremy Camp)

- What Child is This? (Chris Tomlin ft. All Sons & Daughters)

- Oh Holy Night (Vienna Boys Choir) from Home Alone

What are your favorites?

The twelve pains of christmas is a favorite in this house. It right up there with ( is you is or is you aint ever seen a one eyed woman cry). Just a lovely song

Might be kind of obscure but my favorite is the instrumental (no lyrics) version of Once in Royal David's City. I used to play it on trumpet in a community concert band and it's just a beautiful melody.

I like Instrumental songs. I’m sort of afraid to admit this on here, but I love Kenny G’a Christmas Album.

I have way to many to list here, but I will give some of my favorites

Stille Nacht (Silent Night) - Mannhiem Steamroller
O Holy Night - Micheal Crawford (IMHO the definitive version)
First Noel - BeBe & CeCe Winans
Baby It's Cold Outside - James Taylor & Natalie Cole
Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring - Amy Grant. Blending Bach with Celtic instrumentation. Ingenious to say the least.
Albums
A Charlie Brown Christmas - Vince Guaraldi
Christmas - A Wind Machine
December - George Winston

And 2 Songs that aren't officially Christmas Songs and yet they are

Last Train Home - Pat Metheny (was used in a Publix Holiday Commercial). An amazing piece of music.
Celebrate Me Home - Kenny Loggins

Here's one of them. Andrea Bocelli and Mary J. Blige doing What Child is This.

Others:
Little Drummer Boy -- Bing Crosby and David Bowel
Merry Christmas (I don't want to fight tonight) -- The Ramones
The Christmas Song (Chestnuts) -- Nat King Cole
And just about any version of Silent Night.

I don’t typically like the more modern versions but from time to time I’ll hear a good one. Probably my favorite modern version of a song is by the band opening for Hootie and the Blowfish on the Group Therapy Tour. Such a good song.

Bare Naked Ladies: God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen

- So This Is Christmas (War Is Over) -John Lennon

- All I want for Christmas Is You - Vince Vance & Valiants (This is a different song than the Mariah Carey song and pre-dates it)

- Hard Candy Christmas -Dolly Parton

Best performances:
Andy Williams O Holy Night
Whitney Houston Hark The Heralds
Mahalia Jackson Silent Night
Nat King Cole The Christmas Song
Selene Dion O Holy Night

“Do You Hear What I Hear”- Johnny Mathis
“Santa Claus is Coming to Town”- Jackson Five
“Somewhere in My Memory”- John Williams (Home Alone soundtrack)
“Señor Santa Claus”- Jim Reeves

Oh Holy Night, We Three Kings, Beautiful Star of Bethlehem and Greensleeves
