Since the accident destroyed our Buick, I am left with 2003 GMC Sonoma Pick-up nearing 200K miles. Since Pops has been gone, I've spent over $1,000 on it and now something else is causing me to be afraid to go more than a couple of miles or so. It's a roaring sound in the rear end that only starts at about 30mph, but continues to get louder as you speed up. I haven't gone faster than 50 since I started hearing this on my way home from Lexington after returning from Tampa and that was after a 2 day delay due to the snow in the Lowcountry. I've had 2 opinions: Universal joint, or rear wheel bearings. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I am running out of money to spend on this truck.
