We took an impromptu trip to Miami as my daughter's boyfriend had to fly out of Miami International.
First stop on the way was for lunch in Savannah. Savannah was beautiful as always, but the food at the Pirate House was really bad, and the place was packed.
Next stop Jacksonville. I had forgotten how huge it is. We stayed there for the night while making a trip to St. Augustine. I love the history of St. Augustine and the architectural beauty. However why has it gotten so tacky? Fudge and salt water taffy shops take precedence over historical monuments? No one knows (or cares) who Ponce de Leon is.
Miami...There is not a more beautiful skyline anywhere. Tons of fun.
Miami Beach..stunningly beautiful if you don't look too close at the people
Islamorado...hands down the crowd favorite of the trip...great seafood. We fed the huge tarpon at the Bass Pro Shop.
Miami International...badly needs an overhaul.
