OT: someone told me garibaldi's greene st was closin? what do natives hear*

Re: thanks, good food!*

They closed a few weeks ago. Their group owns the newer restaurant Cola's which serves that famous flounder dish.

They want to re-open Garibaldi's in Columbia when they can find a suitable location to purchase rather than lease.

Garibaldi's already closed a week or two ago. The owner said he might look for another location for Garibaldi's in Columbia, but he had a restaurant in Charleston he's currently working on that takes precedent for the time being.

I just found out my favorite flower shop for 25 years, Pampered Plants Florist on Two Notch Road in NE, closed their doors back on December 23, 2014...

Nothing stays the same does it COE. It really hurt me when Gene's Restaurant in Greenville closed and when I heard Charlie's Steak House closed or is closing that also was upsetting to me. Funny, thing about Charlie's Steak House is I never ate there (although I might have eaten lunch there once when I was in high school- but can't remember for sure) and I was born and raised in Greenville. But, it was a place I had always planned to carry my wife for anniversary sometime.

I know what you mean Freddie. I ate breakfast at Gene's five days a week for 12 years. Bought and sold a lot of football tickets there too. Also remember eating at Charlie's Steak House when I was a kid. I grew up in downtown across from McPhearson Park so that was my old stomping grounds.

Wow, that would have been a cool side of town to have grown up. I grew up in the opposite end of town right off of Pendleton St, behind the old A&P store that was across the street from Greenville Florist.
