Jim Gandy in Columbia's WLTX is pretty good... Several years back, Ben Tanner at WIS called for 100% chance of snow and when my kids woke up, they saw rain. Ben Tanner with his prediction forced schools to close for the day or 2 hour delay.

Ben Tanner is a joke.
Ah yes, folks will never let Ben Tanner live that down. He is on one of the noon broadcasts now, no longer a headliner. And you're right, Jim Gandy, South Carolina's weatherman, was the only one calling for no snow, and people thought he was crazy. LOL.
And he got Hugo right hitting Charleston when he was at WIS. People back then said Hugo was going to hit Hilton Head at the time.
Oh yeah, forgot about the Hugo prediction.

Back to Ben Tanner....... my wife, and every other woman, thought Ben was so dreamy that they were making excuses for him after people were ripping him a new one. It was pathetic. As if good looks got you a free pass for an epic fail of a prediction. I believe it got so bad that he had to go on air and make an apology. haha
sounds like Ben envy to me

Maybe Ben should try modeling instead of meteorology?

Is anyone else sick of watching the meteorologist calling for the snow storms only to wake up with less than an inch or so on the ground and nothing on the roads where I live (Spartanburg). I understand weather can be hard to predict, but how do forecast snowfall amounts of 5-10inches and we get not even a half of that total? I wish I could be so spotty with decisions and calls at my job and still get paid for doing it...

You should have stop at "weather can be hard to predict".

Snow and cold weather sux. It was cool to miss school as a kid but as an adult it simply sux.
