When Jordan Montgomery first became a PROFESSIONAL MLB Pitcher, he was a consistent 85-89 MPH thrower. A couple of 3 years later, after Tommy John, he's a consistent 93 - 95 mph pitcher. SURGERY??? Or BULLSHIT??? When is the last time YOU saw a College pitcher, let alone any Pro throw one UNDER 90 MPH??? ..................................... BS!!!

I say BULLSHIT!!! .... I LIKE the word BULLSHIT!!!! AND So, does YOUR PRESIDENT obviously, as well, also!!! HE SPEAKS IT SO OFTEN!!!

Growing up as a kid, Batting Avg, HR's & RBI's were the measurement for a triple crown. Whaduphuc is OPS??? Oh!!! I !!!! KNOW!!! PURE, SIMPLE, BULLSHIT!!! ...... OPS = OBVIOUSLY PURE SHIT!!!

RBIs are a useless stat. If other players hit well and camp on 3rd base you get lots of RBIs. If they hit poorly and no one is on base when you come to bat, your RBI numbers are bupkis.

OPS is a stat that combines a batter's on-base percentage (OBP) and slugging percentage (SLG). OBP is far superior to batting average. A guy who swings at everything, so rarely walks, isn't as good a player as a guy with a lot of walks and slightly lower batting average. SLG gives credit for HRs, but also doubles and triples.

So you just don't know what you are talking about, in anything you say, including your comments about our President.

Thank you for proving my point. Well actually Aaron Judge actually proves my point, using your analogue of crapspeak.

First of all, RBI's signify the batter's ability to hit in the CLUTCH... with runners on base. I'm going to guess your pseudo mentality can't quiet understand that! DUH!!! Judge strikes out more often than he walks ... (he also has the AL RECORD for HRs) again you use two unrelated stats to try to say nothing but attempt to make it Sound like something related, yet meaning nothing whatsoever.

Secondly, HE is YOUR President and the S.O.B. will likely be in incarcerated after his term. YOU, Numbnuts ... Mid terms are coming & we will no longer need to hear YOUR HOGWASH!!! (A poster suggested using 'HOGWASH' rather than Bullshit (a TRUMP TERM) and I concur .... anything Donald Trump has to say IS HOGWASH .... but most are lies and BULLSHIT)

Honeybunch, I certainly understand baseball stats. OPS simple ADDS together Two unrelated stats to get a higher number which makes no sense whatsoever but, impresses the uneducated, such as yourself, and other non-Fans with it's such a ridiculous stat, it produces much higher numbers that impress the uneducated, including.th STUPID such as YOY!!!

The batter has no ability to make sure runners are on base ahead of him. A bad enough team, he could go all season without a single player on base when he bats. A really bad batter on a good team can get up and just ground out repeatedly and he will get a few RBIs.

I think RBI is an important, key stat. Calling it useless I can't agree with at all. If you have a lot of RBI, you have to be a pretty good hitter and that counts for a lot in baseball. But like most baseball stats, it doesn't tell the entire story.

Yep. RPI stat takes two to tango.

It should be replaced with Batting % with Runners on Base.

I think there is some other stat that indicates success in driving in the run, when runner is in scoring position, whether by hit, sac fly or some other sacrifice play.

All the stats tell something about the hitter. When they lose me is when they get into launch angle, defensive runs saved, etc. Too much.
