I have seen repeatedly, that our coaches and particularly Beamer are responsible for the lack of discipline creating multiple penalties in every game thus far.
Well let's put it in perspective; the Coach(es) can focus on that in practice, they can harp on it in meetings, they can make players run or otherwise suffer for their errors, but they can not make the player(s) stop the stupid stuff. Hold on - here's where I am going with this. Offsides or motion by our Oline has probably been the worst in terms of number of penalties, but replicating the quickness of defensive tackle or nose, the stadium noise, and even the mental threat of the Coach chewing your ass out still does not equal the pressure encountered in the game environment. It is almost one of those things that the harder you try, the more difficult it becomes. Individually, you have to reach a point where you play comfortably in a "mental zone", have confidence you can indeed execute in that game environment, and then do so enough times to get completely comfortable. It is not nearly as easy as many make it out to be, and new coaches and repetitive failure compounds the issue.
- not saying the Coaches should not bust their asses to try to cure the issue, but ultimately it is on the player!
