Holbrook isn't going to make it here. There is no reason to prolong the agony beyond this season.. I posted this three weeks ago and got hammered. I doubt I will have as many detractors this time. We need to go straight to Charleston and bring Monte Lee back.

Sounds like a good plan!

What an odd response. Are we grading on originality? I think the fact that quite a few people are thinking the same thing adds to her point.

Kitchenlabs, sadly to say, I think you are right. I was, at one time, all for giving him one more year.

I've been saying it since his first season. Got blasted for it darn near every time. My personal favorite are those that say, "you just don't understand baseball. We can't win em all."

I have also been bombed by the 'it's just baseball - you don't understand baseball' crowd. Well, from a member of the 'time-will-tell' crowd, it's time to get crackin' - Holbrook is in over his head. Nice guy - family man - but he is not what Carolina needs/wants in a head baseball coach. USC has invested tens of millions of dollars in our baseball program and we cannot sit around and settle for mediocre performance on the field.

Usually I'm not in the "let's make a change" group, but this year has hardened me to the point that it is probably time to do something. I felt that way with Ward and think that Hoke is going to be a pretty good answer. Now Holbrook has added himself to the list and I really feel bad about that. Sports are a business though and in any business if you are not getting the job done then it's time to look in another direction.

for me, the football situation has accelerated my thoughts on making a change in baseball. we've already let that sport slip after our greatest years ever and now we're seeing our baseball program start the same slide.

fortunately, we are regarded much more highly as a baseball program so it will be much easier to recuperate. a la an lsu/alabama in football.

it's time, but this is Tanners buddy, so we are stuck with him for a while. there are 2 good coaches

in Charleston, Monte Lee and Lake, who would jump at the chance to be our coach. Monte has proven himself

at CofC and we really need him. Maybe Holbrook could stay as an assistant to Monte. Also need to hire

a hitting coach BAD. And what do we do about all the errors? We haven't had that problem before.

You know I'm not as connected to the inner workings of the schools athletic dept.but from the outside it sure looks like our AD may be in over his head ? My take could be totally of base but what exactly has he done since since becoming the AD ? I know he renegotiated Staleys contract which was a no brainer but is he going to make the tough decisions when the time comes ? Being a Great baseball coach doesn't qualify you for an AD position in these competitive times.IMO
