I’ll post my thoughts/observations soon. So much to say about this game, I don’t know where start…
Offense 1st Drive:
Play 1 - Pass to White for 6 yards. 3 WR set. White goes in motion pre-snap and JB hits him on a swing pass. Joyner gets a good block on CB. Vann misses his block and his man assists the S on the tackle.
Play 2 - Interception. JB threw a 50/50 ball to Joyner, but it was a little under thrown. Joyner was actually higher in the air than the CB, but couldn’t make a play due to the pass being under thrown.
Defense 1st Drive:
Play 1 - Run for 8 yards. Mizzou pulls both LG and LT. Ellis and Pickens get sealed off. Sterling squeezes in too much and gets sealed by pulling LG. Staley takes on the pulling LT. RT released and got a piece of Johnson. Johnson and Foster make the tackle.
Play 2 - Pass for 1 yard. Pass to RB and Johnson quickly closes in on the tackle.
Play 3 - Run for 1 yard. Pickens got off his block immediately and made the tackle.
Play 4 - Interception. Cam Smith with the interception. No idea what the QB was thinking or doing as he just lofted a pass towards the sideline and Smith jumped on it.
Offense 2nd Drive:
Play 1 - Pass Bell for 3 yards. 3 WR set. Hitch route. Nobody was lined up over Bell at SE, but S came down quickly to make the tackle.
Play 2 - Run by Harris for 6 yards. 3 WR set. Zone run. Wannamaker climbed to LB. Could have been a much bigger play, but backside S came down into the box and made the tackle.
Play 3 - Run by Harris for no gain. 2 WR set. Joyner slid in to act as a TE by Muse. Zone run. OL gets some push and Gwyn gets just enough of the LB for Harris to get the yard. But tough spot by refs.
Play 4 - Run by Harris for 1 yard. Big set. Jones (FB) gets cut by the DE. OL blocks down and Lee (LG) pulls giving Harris the hole he needs.
Play 5 - Incomplete pass. 3 WR set. Mizzou blitzes 6. Play action fake to Lloyd. S comes free on the blitz and hits JB as he throws. JB was going to Vann, but looked like Vann thought it was a run play and started blocking. Didn’t seem like an RPO though.
Play 6 - Pass to Lloyd for 25 yards. Bunch set. We run this play several times each game but usually on third down. Lloyd ran a short out and then broke a tackle.
Play 7 - Run by Harris for 8 yards. Wildcat set. OL blocks down. Muse (TE) crushes the LB on the edge. Jones (FB) gets just a piece of the CB allowing Harris to get to the edge. Gwyn (RG) pulled but no one for him to block as Harris turned it outside.
Play 8 - Run by Harris for 2 yard TD. Big set. OL blocks down. Wannamaker (RT) and Kenion (TE) drive the DE and DT all the way across the formation. Jones (FB) blocks the S. Lee (LG) pulls and takes out the LB.
Defense 2nd Drive:
Play 1 - Pass for 1 yard gain. Swing pass to RB. WR doesn’t even attempt to block Smith. Smith makes the tackle.
Play 2 - Sack for 8 yard loss. Similar to last week, often when there was a play-action our LBs automatically came on the blitz. Staley with the sack, as Johnson delayed blitzed as well.
Play 3 - Pass for 4 yards. Swing pass to RB. Enagbare with the pressure. Smith chased RB out of bounds.
Offense 3rd Drive:
Play 1 - Pass to White for 4 yards. 3 WR set. Mizzou came with the CB blitz. JB sees it and swings ball out to White. EJ recognizes it as well but instead of blocking the LB, blocks nobody.
Play 2 - Run for 1 yard by Harris. 2 WR, 2 RB set. Harris gets the carry as a FB. DE comes off the edge unlocked to make the tackle. Unfortunate because Gwyn (RG) and Wannamaker (RT) blew the other DE and DT off the ball about 6 yards downfield.
Play 3 - Offsides Penalty.
Play 4 - Run for 4 yards by Harris. 3 WR set, Bell as motioning WR. OL blocks down. Lee (LG) pulls and kicks out DE. Wannamaker (RT) releases and moves the fastest I’ve ever seen him move going for the LB - gets a piece but can’t sustain the block. Gwyn (RG) and Douglass (C) drive both DTs about 5 yards downfield. Bell (TE) gets away with what probably should have been a hold on the LB.
Play 5 - Run for 4 yards by Harris. 3 WR set, Bell as motioning WR. Same play, same result.
Play 6 - Run for 5 yards by Harris. I-Formation. Bell as FB - full head of steam and gets blown back by the LB, but the block works. Lee (LG) doubles the DT and then works up to backside LB. S comes unblocked to make the tackle. If Harris makes that guy miss, it’s probably a TD as EJ had his man blocked on perimeter.
Play 7 - Run for 2 yards by Lloyd. I-Formation. Bell at FB. Muse kicks out the LB and Bell doubles. The way the play was being blocked, it may have been set up for a cutback by the RB.
Play 8 - Fumbled handoff. 2 WR set. I think this was an RPO by the way it was being blocked, the WR option, and the goofiness of the handoff.
Defense 3rd Drive:
Play 1 - Run for 8 yards. Spaulding at LB depth gets doubled by LG and TE. LT kicks out Burch. Pickens can’t get off C block. Staley caught standing and watching the action as RG releases onto and nearly knocks him over. RT should have been flagged for holding Ellis. Rush makes the tackle.
Play 2 - Run for 2 yards. Rush has his head turned talking to sideline as ball is snapped, but still makes the tackle. Ellis and Pickens doubled and pushed back. Strachan does a nice job beating his man and scraps down into the gap to hold up progress.
Play 3 - Run for 7 yards. Staley blitzes into the gap where run is going, forcing the bounce. Strachan squeezed nicely. Roderick filled the gap where Johnson was also going and took himself out the play, instead of setting the edge. Rush pushed RB out of bounds.
Play 4- Pass for 9 yards. Rush played way off, then came up and made the tackle.
Play 5 - Run for 8 yards. Pickens blocked out the play by LG. Ellis disrupts the play but the RB is patient enough to allow his RG continue to work on Ellis. Burch squeezes down taking on the TE that pulled. RT goes to Staley and takes him out the play. C releases to Johnson, but Johnson still makes the tackle along with Foster. RB pushed forward for another few yards.
Play 6 - Run for 1 yard. Ellis beats his man and makes the tackle.
Play 7 - Run for 8 yards. Not sure why this play wasn’t blown dead at the half yard gain. Forward progress was stopped and both sideline refs were already headed towards the pile. They inexplicably just let the play keep going. Pickens, Ellis, and Staley had the middle of the line stood up.
Play 8 - Pass for 10 yards. Mizzou was looking for the double pass. Johnson completely whiffed on the tackle for loss. Smith tripped the WR and Roderick cleaned up.
Play 9 - Run for 3 yards. Zone blocked. Webb got off the block and made the tackle along with Huntley.
Play 10 - Run for 15 yards. WR reverse. Some pre-snap confusion with our D. LT releases and seals Kaba out the play. Enagbare chased the fake to RB down backside, so he took himself out position. Roderick blocked by the pulling TE. Smith made the tackle.
END OF 1ST QUARTER
Play 11 - Run for 7 yards. Shovel to motioning WR. Kaba with one false step and he can’t quite make it out to tackle the WR on the perimeter for a small gain. Roderick gets blocked out the play by the TE. Smith and Staley make the tackle.
Play 12 - Pass for 2 yard TD. Play-action and WR fake reverse. TE blocked for 2 seconds, then released to end zone. Roderick got caught up in the fakes and TE was wide open.
Offense 4th Drive:
Play 1 - Run for 3 yards by White. 2 WR set. OL blocks down. Lee (LG) and Muse (TE) pull. DE doesn’t honor the play and just shoots into the backfield - grabbing White’s facemask, which isn’t called. Lee can’t get to DE, so instead goes to LB with Muse. White breaks the tackle and gets a few yards before backside LB makes the tackle.
Play 2 - Incomplete pass. 3 WR set. Mizzou blitzes 6. JB spins out and scrambles, but no one open so he throws it away.
Play 3 - Incomplete pass. 3 WR set. Mizzou blitzes 5. Blitz is picked up well by OL and White. JB’s pass intended for Joyner but not a well thrown ball and Joyner didn’t have much separation. Muse was open in the middle of the field.
Defense 4th Drive:
Play 1 - Run for 5 yards. Zone blocked. Ellis immediately beats his block and is held, but no call. Staley delayed in reacting and basically allows himself to be blocked by the TE. Sterling gets manhandled by the LT. Johnson sheds the block by the RG and then the LG and makes the tackle.
Play 2 - Run for 6 yards. LG pulls and seals off Sterling. LT pulls and blocks Staley. Pickens is singled blocked out the play by the C. Ellis is doubled by RG and RT. RT then releases to Johnson. Enagbare whips the TE and makes the tackle.
Play 3 - Pass for 60 yard TD. Play-action. No excuse for this. No idea what Foster was watching, but the WR ran right by him. Maybe he thought Smith was covering the WR? Roderick on the blitz and hit the QB as he threw the ball.
Offense 5th Drive:
Play 1 - Incomplete pass. 3 WR set. Play-action. Pass intended for White deep along the sideline. No one open.
Play 2 - Holding on Defense. Pass was intercepted, but play reversed.
Play 3 - Run for 1 yard loss by Harris. 3 WR set. Zone blocked. Looked like the OL got their calls crossed. Half the OL blocked one way while the other half blocked the other way. LB came free and made the tackle along with the DT who beat Lee (LG).
Play 4 - Pass for 6 yards to Vann. 3 WR set. Mizzou blitzes 5. OL picked it up. Vann ran a short curl route and shielded off the defender well.
Play 5 - Pass to Vann for 8 yards. 2 WR, 2 TE set. Mizzou blitzes 6. OL picks up the blitz well. Vann gets open on an out route.
Play 6 - Holding on offense. Bell caught this time.
Play 7 - Pass to Bell for 11 yards. 2 WR, 2 TE set. EJ runs off 1 CB. Bell on a short crossing route and breaks two tackles along the way. Leggette doesn’t block anybody.
Play 8 - Incomplete pass. 2 WR, 2 TE set. JB does a nice job stepping up into the pocket and then rolling out to give himself room to work. Pass intended for Leggette but JB’s arm is hit as he threw it.
Play 9 - Pass to EJ for 10 yards. 3 WR set. Mizzou blitzes 6. Blitz picked up by OL and Harris. JB steps up into the pocket, then slides to his right and hits EJ in stride on a crossing route.
Play 10 - False Start.
Play 11 - Run for 1 yard by White. 3 WR set. Zone blocked and no one really blocks it well as the DL beats us off the snap. White tries to bounce it.
Play 12 - Pass to Bell for 17 yards. 3 WR set. Crossing routes by Bell and Joyner. Joyner intentionally blocks Bell’s man on the route. Leggette blocks his man all the way downfield until Bell gets tackled and rolled up on him. Bell ran through 2 tackles along the way.
Play 13 - Run for 1 yard by Harris. 2 TE, 2 RB set. Looked to be zone blocked. Our OL got beat up front and can’t get to 2nd level.
Play 14 - Run for 1 yard gain by Harris. 3 WR set. OL blocked down. Lee (LG) pulled and blocked the DE. Wannamaker (RT) blocks backside LB. Bell (TE) pulls and gets knocked backward by play side LB , who makes the tackle along with the S who came down. Douglass (C) can’t maintain his block on the DT who also gets in on the tackle.
Play 15 - Pass to Vann for 26 yard TD. 3 WR set. JB steps up into the pocket, rolls to his right and hits Vann in stride for the TD.
Defense 5th Drive:
Play 1 - Run for 6 yards. TE pulls and kicks out Enagbare. Staley came on the run blitz to opposite side. Johnson misread the play and took himself out of the play. Pickens made the tackle after being single blocked back 5 yards by the LT. Roderick assisted on the tackle.
Play 2 - Run for 4 yard loss. Mizzou zone blocked. Pickens got off the block and got into the backfield to make the tackle. Enagbare was being handled by the LT, but found himself at the tackle and assisted.
Play 3 - Incomplete pass. Ellis beat the LG and C to get pressure. Rush was step for step with WR and broke up the pass.
Offense 6th Drive:
Play 1 - Run for 6 yard loss by Lloyd. 3 WR set. Read option play. Wannamaker (RT) and Gwyn (RG) pulled. DE went straight to the RB to make the tackle. Douglass (C)was blown into the backfield by the DT who went to the QB.
Play 2 - Pass to Vann for 17 yards. JB does a nice job of climbing into the pocket and throwing a good ball to Vann on a corner route. Vann high pointed the ball.
Play 3 - Holding on Turnetine (LT).
Play 4 - Incomplete pass. 2 WR set. Pass intended for Bell on a crossing route, but he dropped it.
Play 5 - Pass to Lloyd for no gain. 3 WR set. Lloyd couldn’t make the LB miss and was tackled in the open field.
Play 6 - JB sacked for 13 yard loss. 4 WR set. JB took a 7 step drop after being in shotgun already. DEs easily got around Moore (LT) snd Wannamaker (RT) due to the deep drop.
Defense 6th Drive:
Play 1 - Shovel pass for 47 yards. Enagbare takes himself out the play - follows up on the OT’s butt like he should but there isn’t an RB, in the backfield, going that way. Platel gets blocked out the play by the WR. Staley tries to set the edge but there isn’t anyone to fill as Platel is out of the play already. Foster is next man up but he takes a bad angle and misses the tackle. Smith chases him down across the field.
Play 2 - Incomplete pass. Staley blitzed. Strachan with the pressure. Rush on the coverage.
Play 3 - Incomplete pass. Ellis tipped it. Johnson on the coverage.
Play 4 - Pass for 17 yards. Strachan with the pressure. TE was wide open on crossing route and made a nice catch. Roderick and Foster on the tackle.
Play 5 - Run for 3 yards. Ellis disrupts the play getting into the backfield, but RB cuts underneath him. Staley sheds the RG’s block and makes the tackle.
Play 6 - Run for 3 yards. Ellis disrupts the play again, beating a double team. Sterling makes initial contact on tackle and Foster assists.
Play 7 - Pass for no gain. Foster with pressure on the blitz. Smith tackled low, while Kaba cleaned up high.
HALFTIME
Defense 7th Drive:
Play 1 - Run for 15 yards. LT releases to Johnson. Sterling tries to squeeze down but the pulling RT knocks him out the play. Staley sets the edge forcing it back inside, but no one there to fill the gap. Smith and Foster make the tackle.
Play 2 - Run for 3 yards. Sterling tries to squeeze it, but he’s kicked out by the TE. Staley fills the gap, but he’s blown out of there by a double from the pulling RG and RT. Spaulding helped fill the gap and assists on the tackle with Smith. Smith came on the blitz from backside.
Play 3 - Run for 2 yards. Enagbare strung the play out to the sideline. Johnson was coming to help but got flipped by the TE he didn’t see coming. Roderick filled and made the tackle.
Play 4 - Incomplete pass. Spaulding on the coverage and got a hand in to knock the ball out.
Offense 7th Drive:
Play 1 - Run for 2 yards by Harris. 2 WR, 2 RB set. Harris got the carry as FB. OL couldn’t get much push as Mizzou came aggressively with their LBs.
Play 2 - Incomplete pass. 2 WR, 2 TE set. JB looking for Leggette, but no one was open.
Play 3 - 3 WR set. JB had time, but no one open. Threw it away in the area of Muse. Personal foul on Mizzou.
Play 4 - Pass interference. JB has time and goes deep to Vann, who is mugged.
Play 5 - Run for 1 yard by White. 3 WR set. Zone blocked. Mizzou brought the S blitz and DL beat our OL. White made something out of nothing, bouncing it outside.
Play 6 - Intentional grounding. JB takes another 7 step drop out of shotgun. Moore (LT) has no chance. Gwyn (RG) also loses his block.
Play 7 - Run for 21 yards by White. OL blocks down. Lee (LG) pulls and kicks out the DE. Muse (TE) blocks the playside LB. Wannamaker (RT) releases to the backside LB. White hits the hole hard and then uses his blocks to cut across the field, slipping one tackle along the way.
Defense 8th Drive:
Play 1 - Run for 4 yards. Zone blocked. Pickens and Ellis doubled. Foster comes down to make the tackle along with Ellis who slipped the double team.
Play 2 - Run for 1 yard. TE pulls and drives Enagbare 4 yards down the field. Staley came downhill and knocked the C into the backfield, then made the tackle along with Johnson.
Play 3 - Pass for 13 yards. Pass to RB. Staley had him for what should have been a 1 yard gain, but RB just shrugged off Staley. Roderick knocked RB out of bounds.
Play 4 - Run for 4 yards. Zone blocked. Pickens and Ellis doubled. TE drives Enagbare 5 yards downfield until the RB runs into Enagbare for the tackle.
Play 5 - Run for 14 yards. Sterling tries to squeeze it but he’s taken out by the pulling RT. C cuts Ellis. LG drives Pickens out the play. Staley takes on the pulling RG. Kaba came down to fill, but the LT kicked him out. Roderick gets stiff armed on the tackle attempt. Dial finally drives the RB out of bounds.
Play 6 - Run for 4 yards. Pickens doubled by LT and LG. Enagbare squeezes but he’s blasted out of there by the pulling RT. Roderick comes up to fill, but he’s knocked back by pulling RG. Kaba fills and makes the tackle.
Play 7 - Run for 7 yards. Pickens and Ellis doubled. Enagbare tried to squeeze, but TE pulled and drove him back 3 yards. Kaba filled, but RB slipped his tackle. Dial pushes RB out of bounds.
Play 8 - Run for 3 yards. TE pulled, but this time Enagbare stood his ground and squeezed. Kaba filled and attempted to DDT the RB.
Play 9 - Run for 1 yard. Zone blocked. Staley on the run blitz. Split the block of the C and RG and made the tackle.
Play 10 - Incomplete pass. Sterling with some pressure. Spaulding on the coverage.
Offense 8th Drive:
Play 1 - Incomplete pass. 2 WR, 2 TE set. Play-action and then JB tries to complete it to White as nobody blocked the DE. White dropped the ball, which was low.
Play 2 - Holding on defense. JB had all day and took a deep shot to Vann, but underthrew him and it was picked.
Play 3 - Fumbled recovered for defense TD. 3 WR set. Play-action. S came on a blitz untouched. A TE screen was being setup, which was well covered.
Offense 9th Drive:
Play 1 - Run for 13 yards by Lloyd. 3 WR set. OL blocks down. Gwyn (RG) and Muse (TE) pull and block DE. Lloyd gets the edge and runs through a player at end of run.
Play 2 - Run for 3 yards by Lloyd. 3 WR set. Same play.
Play 3 - Run for no gain by Lloyd. 2 WR, 2 TE set. Zone block. OL can’t get enough initial push and DE chases Lloyd down from backside.
Play 4 - Incomplete pass. 4 WR set. Mizzou blitzes 6. Edge player comes untouched. JB spins out and rolls left, tries to square up and hit Muse, but the pass is low and out of bounds.
Defense 9th Drive:
Play 1 - Incomplete pass. Mizzou tried to setup a RB screen, but our D was all over it.
Play 2 - Pass for 7 yards. Hemingway with some pressure. Rush with the coverage and tackle.
Play 3 - Pass for 4 yards. Smith with the coverage and the tackle.
Play 4 - Pass for 5 yards. Swing pass to WR. Roderick chases WR out of bounds.
Play 5 - Run for 6 yards. Staley and Kaba run blitz. Staley is stoned by RG. Kaba bulldozes the C. Sterling tries to squeeze, but he’s kicked out by LT. Pickens is driven out by LG. Ellis misses the tackle. Platel and Foster combine on the tackle.
END OF 3RD QUARTER
Play 6 - Run for 5 yards. Sterling tries to squeeze but he’s engulfed by the pulling LG. Pulling LT kicks out Staley. Johnson gets off his block and makes the tackle with Foster.
Play 7 - Run for 2 yards. Zone blocked. Enagbare and Pickens string it out. Ellis trips up RB and Staley finishes up the tackle.
Play 8 - Run for 3 yards. Handoff to the motioning WR. Johnson comes down to make the tackle.
Play 9 - Run for 9 yards. Platel blitzes off the edge but is stood up by TE. Pickens single blocked by LG and blown back for 4 yards. LT released onto Johnson. Staley comes down and over shoots the gap taking himself out the play. Sterling takes on the double team of the pulling RG and RT. Foster gets off the block of the WR to make the tackle.
Play 10 - 21 yard TD run. Zone blocked. Staley and Platel blitz off the edge backside. Ellis and Enagbare are doubled. LG seals off Pickens and then blocks Johnson. Roderick doesn’t want any of the RT avoids him, giving up the edge.
Offense 10th Drive:
Play 1 - Pass to Vann for 6 yards. 3 WR set. JB rolls right and hits Vann on the out route. Nice job by Vann subtly working back to the ball.
Play 2 - Run for 3 yards by Harris. 3 WR set. Counter. OL blocks down. Lee (LG) pulls and kicks out the DE. Muse (TE) pulls and goes to the play side LB. Wannamaker (RT) blocks the DT and then works to backside LB. Wannamaker didn’t stay on the block of DT long enough as the DT made the tackle.
Play 3 - False start. JB didn’t check to make sure everyone was set.
Play 4 - Incomplete pass. 4 WR set. Mizzou blitzes 5. OL picks up the blitz. JB steps up into the pocket and delivers a catchable ball to Joyner, but Joyner dropped it.
Play 5 - Incomplete pass. 4 WR set. Mizzou blitzes 6. OL doesn’t pick it up well. Moore (LT) gets away with a hold. JB spins and rolls left, tries to square up and find Muse. Pass is just a little high and outside.
Offense 11th Drive:
Play 1 - Pass for 8 yards to Muse. 3 WR set. Looked like an RPO. Muse high pointed the ball along the sideline.
Play 2 - Run for 5 yards by White. 3 WR set. Zone blocked. White hit the hole hard and dragged the LB for a few yards.
Play 3 - Incomplete pass. 3 WR set. JB had all day to throw. Went deep for Vann. Should have been another Pass Interference.
Play 4 - Pass for 3 yards to Leggette. Trips set. JB with all day again. Short pass to Leggette.
Play 5 - Run for 9 yards by White. 3 WR set. Was a big run, but EJ called for holding, which was a fairly weak call. Counter. OL blocked down. Gwyn (RG) pulled and kicked out the LB. Muse (TE) pulled and blocked the DE. White broke the backside LB’s tackle.
Play 6 - Holding on defense. Brown beat the defender on an out and go route. Trips set.
Play 7 - Incomplete pass. 2 WR, 2 TE set. Play-action. No one initially open. JB rolls and scrambles left, tries to square up and hit Brown deep, who is working back to the football. Pass is low and outside.
Play 8 - Run for 6 yards by White. 3 WR set. Counter. Lee (LG) pulls and blocks the end. Muse (TE) pulls and blocks the playside LB. White runs through two arm tackles before being brought down.
Play 9 - Run for 1 yard by White. 3 WR set. Zone blocked. White runs through the tackle of the LB, but is brought down by the DE.
Play 10 - Pass for 38 yard TD to White. Bunch set. Same play we ran earlier in the game, just to the opposite side. White leaked out the backfield, JB found him and it was a foot race from there.
Defense 11th Drive:
Play 1 - Run for 3 yards. Zone blocked. Ellis and Pickens initially doubled. LT went to Johnson. Strachan beat the one on one block by the TE to make the tackle. One of Mizzou’s OL was getting into it with Ellis after the play. Badie from Mizzou got up and told his OL to “shut up,” which the OL did.
Play 2 - Run for 1 yard. Burch dived inside allowing himself to be sealed by the pulling LG. Staley took on the pulling LT. Platel held his ground on the TE block. Foster filled the gap for the tackle. Roderick was on a blitz from the backside and assisted on the tackle.
Play 3 - Interception. Ellis and Enagbare with the pressure. QB lofts up another one and Johnson picks it off.
Offense 12th Drive:
Play 1 - Pass for 9 yards to Joyner. Bunch set. No pressure on JB. Nice throw and catch. Joyner turned a 5 yard catch into 9 yards.
Play 2 - Run for 2 yards by White. 3 WR set. Zone blocked. OL with some push and White hit it hard to get the yards needed for 1st down.
Play 3 - Run for 3 yard TD by White. Bunch set. Zone blocked. White was patient and then hit the hole hard when it appeared, running through a tackle. Gwyn (RG) blew the DT off the LOS. Wannamaker (RT) went to LB creating the hole that White needed.
Defense 12th Drive:
Play 1 - Run for 6 yards. Sterling lost the edge, getting turned out by LT. Foster takes a bad angle and ends up right beside Staley. FB (usually at TE) first blocks Staley and then goes to Foster. RB falls down to stay in bounds.
Play 2 - Run for 30 yards. Sterling squeezed too far inside and took himself out the play. Staley came down and took on the block of pulling LG. Foster came down to fill, but was kicked out by pulling LT. Roderick chased down the RB for the tackle.
Play 3 - Run for 7 yards. Sterling takes himself out the play thinking it’s going to the outside. Foster came on the blitz but was redirected by RG. Staley blitzed but couldn’t get off C block. Johnson and Dial make the tackle.
Play 4 - Holding on offense. Defense strung the run out well.
Play 5 - Run for 11 yards. QB kept it, which Mizzou had the option for but hadn’t done all game. Enagbare played the RB. Johnson took the false step inside before trying to recover and get to QB. QB slid to stay in bounds.
Play 6 - Run for 11 yards. Zone blocked. Strachan was sealed off by the TE. Huntley and Webb doubled. Johnson delayed filling the hole and then misses the tackle. Roderick with the tackle.
Play 7 - Run for 4 yards. Zone blocked. Pickens and Ellis doubled. Enagbare can’t get off the TE block. Johnson sheds the block to make the tackle.
Play 8 - QB sacked for 3 yard loss. Looks like the QB was expecting the TE to release on a route, but that didn’t happen. Staley with the sack.

Offense 1st Drive:
Play 1 - Pass to White for 6 yards. 3 WR set. White goes in motion pre-snap and JB hits him on a swing pass. Joyner gets a good block on CB. Vann misses his block and his man assists the S on the tackle.
Play 2 - Interception. JB threw a 50/50 ball to Joyner, but it was a little under thrown. Joyner was actually higher in the air than the CB, but couldn’t make a play due to the pass being under thrown.
Defense 1st Drive:
Play 1 - Run for 8 yards. Mizzou pulls both LG and LT. Ellis and Pickens get sealed off. Sterling squeezes in too much and gets sealed by pulling LG. Staley takes on the pulling LT. RT released and got a piece of Johnson. Johnson and Foster make the tackle.
Play 2 - Pass for 1 yard. Pass to RB and Johnson quickly closes in on the tackle.
Play 3 - Run for 1 yard. Pickens got off his block immediately and made the tackle.
Play 4 - Interception. Cam Smith with the interception. No idea what the QB was thinking or doing as he just lofted a pass towards the sideline and Smith jumped on it.
Offense 2nd Drive:
Play 1 - Pass Bell for 3 yards. 3 WR set. Hitch route. Nobody was lined up over Bell at SE, but S came down quickly to make the tackle.
Play 2 - Run by Harris for 6 yards. 3 WR set. Zone run. Wannamaker climbed to LB. Could have been a much bigger play, but backside S came down into the box and made the tackle.
Play 3 - Run by Harris for no gain. 2 WR set. Joyner slid in to act as a TE by Muse. Zone run. OL gets some push and Gwyn gets just enough of the LB for Harris to get the yard. But tough spot by refs.
Play 4 - Run by Harris for 1 yard. Big set. Jones (FB) gets cut by the DE. OL blocks down and Lee (LG) pulls giving Harris the hole he needs.
Play 5 - Incomplete pass. 3 WR set. Mizzou blitzes 6. Play action fake to Lloyd. S comes free on the blitz and hits JB as he throws. JB was going to Vann, but looked like Vann thought it was a run play and started blocking. Didn’t seem like an RPO though.
Play 6 - Pass to Lloyd for 25 yards. Bunch set. We run this play several times each game but usually on third down. Lloyd ran a short out and then broke a tackle.
Play 7 - Run by Harris for 8 yards. Wildcat set. OL blocks down. Muse (TE) crushes the LB on the edge. Jones (FB) gets just a piece of the CB allowing Harris to get to the edge. Gwyn (RG) pulled but no one for him to block as Harris turned it outside.
Play 8 - Run by Harris for 2 yard TD. Big set. OL blocks down. Wannamaker (RT) and Kenion (TE) drive the DE and DT all the way across the formation. Jones (FB) blocks the S. Lee (LG) pulls and takes out the LB.
Defense 2nd Drive:
Play 1 - Pass for 1 yard gain. Swing pass to RB. WR doesn’t even attempt to block Smith. Smith makes the tackle.
Play 2 - Sack for 8 yard loss. Similar to last week, often when there was a play-action our LBs automatically came on the blitz. Staley with the sack, as Johnson delayed blitzed as well.
Play 3 - Pass for 4 yards. Swing pass to RB. Enagbare with the pressure. Smith chased RB out of bounds.
Offense 3rd Drive:
Play 1 - Pass to White for 4 yards. 3 WR set. Mizzou came with the CB blitz. JB sees it and swings ball out to White. EJ recognizes it as well but instead of blocking the LB, blocks nobody.
Play 2 - Run for 1 yard by Harris. 2 WR, 2 RB set. Harris gets the carry as a FB. DE comes off the edge unlocked to make the tackle. Unfortunate because Gwyn (RG) and Wannamaker (RT) blew the other DE and DT off the ball about 6 yards downfield.
Play 3 - Offsides Penalty.
Play 4 - Run for 4 yards by Harris. 3 WR set, Bell as motioning WR. OL blocks down. Lee (LG) pulls and kicks out DE. Wannamaker (RT) releases and moves the fastest I’ve ever seen him move going for the LB - gets a piece but can’t sustain the block. Gwyn (RG) and Douglass (C) drive both DTs about 5 yards downfield. Bell (TE) gets away with what probably should have been a hold on the LB.
Play 5 - Run for 4 yards by Harris. 3 WR set, Bell as motioning WR. Same play, same result.
Play 6 - Run for 5 yards by Harris. I-Formation. Bell as FB - full head of steam and gets blown back by the LB, but the block works. Lee (LG) doubles the DT and then works up to backside LB. S comes unblocked to make the tackle. If Harris makes that guy miss, it’s probably a TD as EJ had his man blocked on perimeter.
Play 7 - Run for 2 yards by Lloyd. I-Formation. Bell at FB. Muse kicks out the LB and Bell doubles. The way the play was being blocked, it may have been set up for a cutback by the RB.
Play 8 - Fumbled handoff. 2 WR set. I think this was an RPO by the way it was being blocked, the WR option, and the goofiness of the handoff.
Defense 3rd Drive:
Play 1 - Run for 8 yards. Spaulding at LB depth gets doubled by LG and TE. LT kicks out Burch. Pickens can’t get off C block. Staley caught standing and watching the action as RG releases onto and nearly knocks him over. RT should have been flagged for holding Ellis. Rush makes the tackle.
Play 2 - Run for 2 yards. Rush has his head turned talking to sideline as ball is snapped, but still makes the tackle. Ellis and Pickens doubled and pushed back. Strachan does a nice job beating his man and scraps down into the gap to hold up progress.
Play 3 - Run for 7 yards. Staley blitzes into the gap where run is going, forcing the bounce. Strachan squeezed nicely. Roderick filled the gap where Johnson was also going and took himself out the play, instead of setting the edge. Rush pushed RB out of bounds.
Play 4- Pass for 9 yards. Rush played way off, then came up and made the tackle.
Play 5 - Run for 8 yards. Pickens blocked out the play by LG. Ellis disrupts the play but the RB is patient enough to allow his RG continue to work on Ellis. Burch squeezes down taking on the TE that pulled. RT goes to Staley and takes him out the play. C releases to Johnson, but Johnson still makes the tackle along with Foster. RB pushed forward for another few yards.
Play 6 - Run for 1 yard. Ellis beats his man and makes the tackle.
Play 7 - Run for 8 yards. Not sure why this play wasn’t blown dead at the half yard gain. Forward progress was stopped and both sideline refs were already headed towards the pile. They inexplicably just let the play keep going. Pickens, Ellis, and Staley had the middle of the line stood up.
Play 8 - Pass for 10 yards. Mizzou was looking for the double pass. Johnson completely whiffed on the tackle for loss. Smith tripped the WR and Roderick cleaned up.
Play 9 - Run for 3 yards. Zone blocked. Webb got off the block and made the tackle along with Huntley.
Play 10 - Run for 15 yards. WR reverse. Some pre-snap confusion with our D. LT releases and seals Kaba out the play. Enagbare chased the fake to RB down backside, so he took himself out position. Roderick blocked by the pulling TE. Smith made the tackle.
END OF 1ST QUARTER
Play 11 - Run for 7 yards. Shovel to motioning WR. Kaba with one false step and he can’t quite make it out to tackle the WR on the perimeter for a small gain. Roderick gets blocked out the play by the TE. Smith and Staley make the tackle.
Play 12 - Pass for 2 yard TD. Play-action and WR fake reverse. TE blocked for 2 seconds, then released to end zone. Roderick got caught up in the fakes and TE was wide open.
Offense 4th Drive:
Play 1 - Run for 3 yards by White. 2 WR set. OL blocks down. Lee (LG) and Muse (TE) pull. DE doesn’t honor the play and just shoots into the backfield - grabbing White’s facemask, which isn’t called. Lee can’t get to DE, so instead goes to LB with Muse. White breaks the tackle and gets a few yards before backside LB makes the tackle.
Play 2 - Incomplete pass. 3 WR set. Mizzou blitzes 6. JB spins out and scrambles, but no one open so he throws it away.
Play 3 - Incomplete pass. 3 WR set. Mizzou blitzes 5. Blitz is picked up well by OL and White. JB’s pass intended for Joyner but not a well thrown ball and Joyner didn’t have much separation. Muse was open in the middle of the field.
Defense 4th Drive:
Play 1 - Run for 5 yards. Zone blocked. Ellis immediately beats his block and is held, but no call. Staley delayed in reacting and basically allows himself to be blocked by the TE. Sterling gets manhandled by the LT. Johnson sheds the block by the RG and then the LG and makes the tackle.
Play 2 - Run for 6 yards. LG pulls and seals off Sterling. LT pulls and blocks Staley. Pickens is singled blocked out the play by the C. Ellis is doubled by RG and RT. RT then releases to Johnson. Enagbare whips the TE and makes the tackle.
Play 3 - Pass for 60 yard TD. Play-action. No excuse for this. No idea what Foster was watching, but the WR ran right by him. Maybe he thought Smith was covering the WR? Roderick on the blitz and hit the QB as he threw the ball.

Play 2 - Holding on Defense. Pass was intercepted, but play reversed.
Play 3 - Run for 1 yard loss by Harris. 3 WR set. Zone blocked. Looked like the OL got their calls crossed. Half the OL blocked one way while the other half blocked the other way. LB came free and made the tackle along with the DT who beat Lee (LG).
Play 4 - Pass for 6 yards to Vann. 3 WR set. Mizzou blitzes 5. OL picked it up. Vann ran a short curl route and shielded off the defender well.

Play 15 - Pass to Vann for 26 yard TD. 3 WR set. JB steps up into the pocket, rolls to his right and hits Vann in stride for the TD.
Defense 5th Drive:
Play 1 - Run for 6 yards. TE pulls and kicks out Enagbare. Staley came on the run blitz to opposite side. Johnson misread the play and took himself out of the play. Pickens made the tackle after being single blocked back 5 yards by the LT. Roderick assisted on the tackle.
Play 2 - Run for 4 yard loss. Mizzou zone blocked. Pickens got off the block and got into the backfield to make the tackle. Enagbare was being handled by the LT, but found himself at the tackle and assisted.
Play 3 - Incomplete pass. Ellis beat the LG and C to get pressure. Rush was step for step with WR and broke up the pass.

Play 1 - Run for 6 yard loss by Lloyd. 3 WR set. Read option play. Wannamaker (RT) and Gwyn (RG) pulled. DE went straight to the RB to make the tackle. Douglass (C)was blown into the backfield by the DT who went to the QB.
Play 2 - Pass to Vann for 17 yards. JB does a nice job of climbing into the pocket and throwing a good ball to Vann on a corner route. Vann high pointed the ball.
Play 3 - Holding on Turnetine (LT).
Play 4 - Incomplete pass. 2 WR set. Pass intended for Bell on a crossing route, but he dropped it.
Play 5 - Pass to Lloyd for no gain. 3 WR set. Lloyd couldn’t make the LB miss and was tackled in the open field.
Play 6 - JB sacked for 13 yard loss. 4 WR set. JB took a 7 step drop after being in shotgun already. DEs easily got around Moore (LT) snd Wannamaker (RT) due to the deep drop.

Play 1 - Shovel pass for 47 yards. Enagbare takes himself out the play - follows up on the OT’s butt like he should but there isn’t an RB, in the backfield, going that way. Platel gets blocked out the play by the WR. Staley tries to set the edge but there isn’t anyone to fill as Platel is out of the play already. Foster is next man up but he takes a bad angle and misses the tackle. Smith chases him down across the field.
Play 2 - Incomplete pass. Staley blitzed. Strachan with the pressure. Rush on the coverage.
Play 3 - Incomplete pass. Ellis tipped it. Johnson on the coverage.

Play 5 - Run for 3 yards. Ellis disrupts the play getting into the backfield, but RB cuts underneath him. Staley sheds the RG’s block and makes the tackle.
Play 6 - Run for 3 yards. Ellis disrupts the play again, beating a double team. Sterling makes initial contact on tackle and Foster assists.
Play 7 - Pass for no gain. Foster with pressure on the blitz. Smith tackled low, while Kaba cleaned up high.

Play 1 - Run for 15 yards. LT releases to Johnson. Sterling tries to squeeze down but the pulling RT knocks him out the play. Staley sets the edge forcing it back inside, but no one there to fill the gap. Smith and Foster make the tackle.
Play 2 - Run for 3 yards. Sterling tries to squeeze it, but he’s kicked out by the TE. Staley fills the gap, but he’s blown out of there by a double from the pulling RG and RT. Spaulding helped fill the gap and assists on the tackle with Smith. Smith came on the blitz from backside.
Play 3 - Run for 2 yards. Enagbare strung the play out to the sideline. Johnson was coming to help but got flipped by the TE he didn’t see coming. Roderick filled and made the tackle.
Play 4 - Incomplete pass. Spaulding on the coverage and got a hand in to knock the ball out.

Play 2 - Run for 1 yard. TE pulls and drives Enagbare 4 yards down the field. Staley came downhill and knocked the C into the backfield, then made the tackle along with Johnson.
Play 3 - Pass for 13 yards. Pass to RB. Staley had him for what should have been a 1 yard gain, but RB just shrugged off Staley. Roderick knocked RB out of bounds.

Play 9 - Run for 1 yard by White. 3 WR set. Zone blocked. White runs through the tackle of the LB, but is brought down by the DE.
Play 10 - Pass for 38 yard TD to White. Bunch set. Same play we ran earlier in the game, just to the opposite side. White leaked out the backfield, JB found him and it was a foot race from there.

Play 1 - Run for 3 yards. Zone blocked. Ellis and Pickens initially doubled. LT went to Johnson. Strachan beat the one on one block by the TE to make the tackle. One of Mizzou’s OL was getting into it with Ellis after the play. Badie from Mizzou got up and told his OL to “shut up,” which the OL did.
Play 2 - Run for 1 yard. Burch dived inside allowing himself to be sealed by the pulling LG. Staley took on the pulling LT. Platel held his ground on the TE block. Foster filled the gap for the tackle. Roderick was on a blitz from the backside and assisted on the tackle.
Play 3 - Interception. Ellis and Enagbare with the pressure. QB lofts up another one and Johnson picks it off.
Offense 12th Drive:
Play 1 - Pass for 9 yards to Joyner. Bunch set. No pressure on JB. Nice throw and catch. Joyner turned a 5 yard catch into 9 yards.
Play 2 - Run for 2 yards by White. 3 WR set. Zone blocked. OL with some push and White hit it hard to get the yards needed for 1st down.
Play 3 - Run for 3 yard TD by White. Bunch set. Zone blocked. White was patient and then hit the hole hard when it appeared, running through a tackle. Gwyn (RG) blew the DT off the LOS. Wannamaker (RT) went to LB creating the hole that White needed.
Defense 12th Drive:
Play 1 - Run for 6 yards. Sterling lost the edge, getting turned out by LT. Foster takes a bad angle and ends up right beside Staley. FB (usually at TE) first blocks Staley and then goes to Foster. RB falls down to stay in bounds.
Play 2 - Run for 30 yards. Sterling squeezed too far inside and took himself out the play. Staley came down and took on the block of pulling LG. Foster came down to fill, but was kicked out by pulling LT. Roderick chased down the RB for the tackle.
Play 3 - Run for 7 yards. Sterling takes himself out the play thinking it’s going to the outside. Foster came on the blitz but was redirected by RG. Staley blitzed but couldn’t get off C block. Johnson and Dial make the tackle.
Play 4 - Holding on offense. Defense strung the run out well.
Play 5 - Run for 11 yards. QB kept it, which Mizzou had the option for but hadn’t done all game. Enagbare played the RB. Johnson took the false step inside before trying to recover and get to QB. QB slid to stay in bounds.
Play 6 - Run for 11 yards. Zone blocked. Strachan was sealed off by the TE. Huntley and Webb doubled. Johnson delayed filling the hole and then misses the tackle. Roderick with the tackle.
Play 7 - Run for 4 yards. Zone blocked. Pickens and Ellis doubled. Enagbare can’t get off the TE block. Johnson sheds the block to make the tackle.
Play 8 - QB sacked for 3 yard loss. Looks like the QB was expecting the TE to release on a route, but that didn’t happen. Staley with the sack.
Play 9 - QB kneel.
