Though I personally don't see either happening, I'd still say the Panthers are closer to a Superbowl title than we are to a national title in football, they've at least been there

Yeah, the Panthers have made two Super Bowls and also had a 15-1 season, so a turnaround there is more likely just going off history, and I think they can break through at some point (obviously not anytime soon). USC, unfortunately, has never been in genuine contention for an undefeated season or a national title. While both teams have an uphill battle right now, the Panthers have at least proven they can be on that big stage with the right pieces in place. We missed multiple opportunities even with Spurrier, so we still have a ways to go.

I would have preferred a third choice "never." But clearly the Panthers have a better shot than the Gamecocks. Only have 31 teams to compete with in the NFL and they've been there a couple times already.

It’s MUCH easier to get to the super bowl than it is the CFBNC. What Alabama has done is FAR more impressive than what the Patriots did.
As others have mentioned, the Panthers have been right there twice. Any team in the NFL is two years from a Super Bowl victory if the draft/trade properly. (And I say “properly,” but luck plays a huge part of it - you never know for sure who will be that fit that takes a team to the next level.)

Respectfully disagree. Saban flipped Alabama in one year. Alabama has the history and the $$$. They've been one of the Top 10 highest grossing programs forever. It's been a great marriage.
