Chad Holbrook will be kept this year no matter the outcome and this will corrode our team even more then by the end of next year when we can Holbrook leaving the program in a mess for the next guy. Holbrook should be fired this year while there is still something left of a once proud baseball tradition.

I agree 100 percent, but ch is tanners hand picked protege and ch will get every benefit of the doubt, while he runs the program into the ground and he collects a nice fat paycheck. For tanner to fire him, it would be the same as tanner admitting he screwed up by hiring Holbrook in the first place. Ad's don't like to admit they were wrong.

And all the FGF message boarders will say "hail unto Ray Tanner" claiming some demented victory believing that their voicing displeasure, bashing coaches and players being heard on a message board made a difference...until Ray hires another qualified head coach that doesn't over-achieve and get us to Omaha every year, when the fans turn on Ray and claim he isn't qualified to be the A.D....

Oh wait...

Nevermind.

What are you talking about? Have you been drinking?

Seriously neither are or were qualified for either job they got.

You probably think spurrier Jr should be the next head fb coach too.

I have said this before and will say it again, Ray Tanner does not know how to fire anybody. What's worse is that the coaches know it and have gotten lazy, including Spurrier. I am in my mid-60's now and have seen this attitude in corporate behavior for a long time. And yes, I have worked for several Wall Street companies.

Folks will one day realize a great HC (ala RT) does not necessarily make a great AD.
SOS and CH probably should be gone, but RT will not do that. He'll milk us on his long ride out of the athletic department. RT will retire before CH leaves, and maybe about the same time SOS leaves....

Well, I have had a couple of drinks but at least I know where to type when using the quote feature (after the quote).

Now, if you would, please be kind enough to let everyone here know your qualifications and expertize in determining the qualifications of a potential athletic director or a NCAA D1 baseball coach.

I'll hang up and listen.

I thought CH added what was needed for us to win the CWS. I was

excited about him becoming HC. But I guess he just doesn't have what it takes to be a great HC. I think he's too nice. The kids have no emotions. We've got the best fans and facilities in college baseball but our program is sliding backwards.

I was hoping Tanner would be a great AD but the fact that Berson is still coaching soccer proves he really doesn't seem to be able (or unwilling) to do what it takes to make tough decisions. I hate Clemson but admire their AD for giving Leghump one last chance to make improvements and we all know he'll be fired at season's end.

I would venture to say the Gamecock coaches....each and everyone wants to win. It is in your blood to be the best if you've reached that level. To say that a coach has gotten lazy or doesn't care is a misstatement at best. These coaches all want to win. Some might be in over their head....missed on recruits....made bad calls....even second guessed themselves but they all still want to win. Ray also wants them to win and I don't think it will be easy for him to fire a coach but I think his will to be successful, will outweigh keeping coaches that don't perform because he likes them. When it's your legacy that people are screwing up or something you had a hand in building, you take a different approach to friendship. It comes down to the good of the program. Now for my take on Ray....I think he is too nice and will ride it out longer than he should....but he will do what he has to but maybe a little too late for my taste.
