Pretty good UF football turmoil read!

This sounds like a whiny fan to be honest. I can’t give him much credit. In the end, for his New Years resolution for each team, he puts ours “to find a QB in the transfer portal.” Any journalist with credibility would know Spencer Rattler was the top QB in the portal and we landed him.

Emory Jones was bad. He’s definitely the main failure at UF under Mullen. But the way this guy writes, it’s as if a players final game is a culmination of everything they have prepared for over the years. If Jones had thrown for 400 yards, 4 TDs, and no INTs would he have credited Mullen for developing him?

While some of the info may be true, I’m not buying most of what he said.

But even as dysfunctional as they became, they were still greatly out recruiting us.
You could go several ways with that! Stars mean nothing, coaching means something or the article is pretty much spot on!

I don't disagree. They were just as bad at developing talent as we were (he mentions how badly they did at the QB position), but they arguably also had more to work with. One of his biggest points is that that is subpar for Florida.

You would think all three of the big Florida schools would have one above average QB's and a couple of good ones in waiting!

UT was all awash in turmoil last year as well. Not saying Napier is Heupel, but it is something to consider.

Didn’t look like it about a month ago.
They will out recruit us almost every year, that’s not a big surprise is it. They are one year removed from playing in the SEC title game, you can’t even remotely try and compare the history of the programs that’s why we will struggle to keep up with them from a recruiting perspective.

I don't know all the details, but I don't think UF is the dumpster fore that UT was. Sadly, this means they can bounce back a lot easier.

Yeah well a lot of that talent is gone. They lost to us, got manhandled by Kentucky, gave up 52 to Samford, got their butt handed to them by Central Florida, lost to Missouri, lost to a bad LSU team and barely escaped FSU. That’s going to be a tough sell to the best recruits. And Napier is unproven at best at this level.

I admittedly don’t keep up with recruiting. Given the population of the states and the histories of the programs they SHOULD out recruit us, but I’m not so sure that will happen this year—especially with the Oklahoma pipeline we are opening up.

There isn’t much “talent” left on that roster. Florida is a bigger rebuild than you would think.

Until SOS became HBC, Florida football was mostly meh.
