--Kingston starts by saying he's anxious to get out there. Said he has a group with some discipline and they're doing some group work and team practice starts Friday.
--Team is working back towards healthy. Team will manage Sawyer Bridges and Ridge Chapman, who are coming off arm injuries.
--Team is hoping they see a full-body transformation for Chris Cullen, who's shed some weight and they expect big things from him this year. Cullen feeling the pressure since this is his senior year.
--Sawyer Bridges will be the closer if he stays healthy. Kingston said he'd be a guy that can be a shutdown guy every day of the week. Ridge Chapman is one of seven guys being considered for a starting role. Bridges is feeling probably the best he's felt since getting to South Carolina.
--The seven guys the team will consider for a starting role: John Gilreath, Reid Morgan, potentially but he's a better back-of-the bullpen guy, Carmen Mlodzinski, Ridge Chapman, TJ Shook, Hayden Lehman and Dylan Harley.
--Wes Sweatt is a guy they feel can be a good back of the bullpen guy. He's a guy that was up 90-92 yesterday in a sim game and the staff feels like they'll get some big innings this year. They don't think the moment will be too big for him.
--Carmen Mlodzinski, right now is the team's most polished pitcher and is in the lead for the Friday night role. Team will always evaluate things going forward and look at matchups, trends, etc., but he's got the lead right now.
--The team feels like they can have Jacob Olson at third base. Said he's a team player, though, and can play in the outfield, too. Just a matter of how the pieces fall. Ian Jenkins can also be a factor if he gets his swing in order to hit high level pitching consistently. He's got really, really good power but has been hampered by injury.
--Noah Campbell and TJ Hopkins are your two leadoff candidates.
--Josiah Sightler is "getting better, but not a finished product." He's not an All-American first baseman yet, but is getting better. He's a guy the staff has high hopes for. Now it's a matter of time and how quickly he can develop. They want him a major factor of this team.
