Hey all, heading into town for the Mizzou game. Looking for restaurant reccs for Friday/Saturday night - hoping for a good game, have a great weekend everyone.

If you like Mexican food, try Coa Agaveria Y Cochina downtown on Lady Street. One of the best in SC. Good drinks too.

Shealy's in Leesville is the finest southern buffet ever. Presidents eat there when they visit the Midlands.

The special Friday buffet items include ribs and fish. Don't miss the catfish stew, green beans, corn, livers, sawmill gravy or three different cobblers topped with soft serve ice cream. Ask the waitress for a bowl of fried chicken wishbones which she'll bring to your table free of charge.

I like it as well but that's quite a bit of a drive for people arriving in town for a game if they are in Columbia. You have to bypass so many good places to eat to go way out there but fine if you are driving in from the Augusta area toward Columbia if you are arriving late on Friday afternoon.

The other thing to mention is most of the seating is family style- seated with everyone else. If you don't like that style, you might be disappointed.

Lots of good spots in downtown Columbia now.
