Sad news for all old school wrestling fans Mr Wonderful RIP

We’re losing everyone that we grew up with! The ECW roster may have only one or two that are still alive!
Sadly, when you hit your early 50s, the majority of celebs from your childhood pass on.
I was a Tony Atlas guy, btw. Society dictated he would become an afterthought. The Junkyard Dog had the gimmick to stay relevant many decades later, but he wasn’t allowed to capture the belt.

JYD was North American Champion, Bill Watts top belt. I assume you mean he never was WWF Champ, but he entered as Hogan's run as champ was starting and Vince was going national. It wouldn't have made sense for a Hogan-JYD feud as both were over faces.

By the time Hogan's 1st run was over, JYD was not in shape and it was obvious his best days were behind him.

My favorite story about Paul is about him beating the hell out of Vader in the locker room . Paul was actually retired and was working in the office at the time and In pretty bad shape . According to accounts Paul nearly killed him and Vader was a big dude . Go check out some stuff on YouTube , there’s some pretty funny eyewitness stories

I loved Tony Atlas. VM fired him for being late one day to make an example of why not to be late. He was the best.

You want to see a picture from another time/era, with a recruiting tie in, Paul signing to play for Tampa out of high school with his wife and baby looking on. :)

And FYI Both Tampa Coaches pictured would become SEC Head coaches, and both had that one magical season, Curci at Kentucky, 1973-81, (won 10 games in 1977) and MacIntyre at Vanderbilt, 79-85 (Won 8 games in 1982)

Most of the Crockette era wrestlers are dying out. The story lines were better and the smack talk outrageous. Rowdy Roddy, Flair and Dusty were awesome to listen to. Monday nights at Greenville Memorial Auditorium. Loved it when Dusty called the Barbarian "The Ball Bearing "

I'm sure we crossed paths a couple of times at the Auditorium. Love those childhood memories.

Mr. Wonderful was one of my Top 3 favorite wrestlers during the golden era of WWF wrestling in the mid to late 1980s. His in the ring character was one nasty and mean you know what. The manner in how he talked and beat up his opponents was truly priceless! Thanks for being a part of my teenager memories. RIP.

RIP to Mr. 1derful. Hope that spike piledriver delivered by the Horsemen in December of 1995 wasn't a contributing factor.

Greg Valentine said he could never control Orndorff in the ring because he was so strong.
