--Bentley said Kiel Pollard is continuing to work hard to earn the starting spot and is "one of the hardest workers on the team." Next step is continuing to "focus his activity" in practice.

--He's seen improvements from Evan Hinson since he gave up basketball but he still needs to continue to improve with the skill development. Bentley, who recruited Hinson in high school, said it was Hinson's decision to give up hoops.

"I hope it pays off for him because he's got the skill set."

--Bentley says Nick Muse can be a "dominant in-line player" whenever he does get cleared. Said if Muse does get cleared sometime this season he could compete right away for starting snaps because of his size and athleticism.

--Bentley calls Kyle Markway a "Marcus Lattimore type" who makes everyone around him better. He owns mistakes and had a great practice Saturday.

--Before each practice, Bentley shows clips of tight ends that came from South Carolina and are in the NFL to show them what good tight end play looks like. Said he brings up Hayden Hurst a lot.

--Muses's size and length is something that stands out with Muse who can block defensive ends and still split out and do some things on the perimeter. Teams' going to keep him ready but still up in the air on if he'll be eligible.

--Pollard is "definitely a threat outside" and has developed as a blocker. He competes, which is his most attractive trait.

--Bentley not putting numbers on how many guys he wants in the tight end rotation. If they can help, they'll play.

--In terms of his personal switch to tight end, says there's more coaching he can do there. Usually at running back it's about having one guy with some god-given talent where he can do some more technical stuff with the group.

--He confirms Tavien Feaster was at practice and looked good, though he wasn't the sole focus of Bentley's during practice today.

--For Bryan McClendon, having staff retention plus bringing in Thomas Brown, a personal friend, will be huge for the cohesion and comfortability in the room. Said it gives a guy like McClendon a better idea of what he has to work with entering the season.

--Bentley said they've installed some packages where the Gamecocks have three tight ends in the offense. They also are working in some 11 and 12 personnel as well.
