SC v. Vandy

The defense didn't just magically get good. The coaches you listed are the reason that defense is so good.

Then why weren't they good last year?

The reality is they are an incredibly senior laden defense in a world where teams are younger and younger based on the transfer portal. You're going to make a sweeping generalization on this year ignoring the previous three years and the possibility of next year.

Going to need to see them rebuild the defense next year before you can determine if this was a fluke or actual coaching.

He gets credit, he as "overachieved" this year.

While I still believe he gets sent packing, this year is twofold. A little enjoyable mixed with "here comes another buyout that is too large".

But first and foremost, I'll just enjoy it as much as I can. It's fleeting, and we don't get to very often.

What does this even mean? Of course he'll get sent packing at some point. He's not even 50 years old.

Outside of Morrison's passing, the only coach on our history that didn't get sent packing at some point in time was Spurrier and his team was on the decline too. He just decided to jump back into retirement isn't of having a big stain on his career.

If Beamer makes it past the 5-year mark as our football coach, that's a successful run based on our history.

Kettle - I've broken that comparison down in full color and no one disagreed including yourself.

Instead of trolling with empty one-liners, provide a legit counter argument with data.

The "data" has been presented to you multiple times. Being able to buy talent and get talent through the transfer portal makes it infinitely easier to build a roster than what Spurrier had to do with recruiting.

This is the weakest college football has ever been at the top which also makes it much easier.

Well, we are riding this defense this year.

Through buying portal players and buying 5 star recruits, we put together a good D. White deserves a lot of credit there. And Beamer deserves credit for hiring White. His supporters always claimed he was supposed to be a CEO and just cheer after hiring a good staff. He did that in this case for the defense.

It is still amazingly frustrating that he has a major blind spot on the offensive side. I keep thinking how we're squandering this once in a generation Gamecock defense.

It's called talent deficits and the coaches are managing it very well. Throw some big money at this staff to move into the Top 10 in recruiting for a few years and see what happens.

Stop trolling.

You want the top players coming out of high school.

You also want to retain your top talent.

Most of the big NIL teams aren't screwing around with the portal if they can avoid it.

I just can't be upset enough to argue and complain with others about having 6 wins with 3 games left to go or to worry or think about next season in early November 2024.

Enjoying the present.

Great point. Most of the defense will need to be replaced next year.

As the only person on here who actually makes bold statements that can be used against him in the future.

If Beamer is able to replace this defense next year and we win 9 games again I will admit I was wrong about him and he should be our long-term coach.

And Beamer never would have been able to sign Dylan Stewart if he couldn't buy him.

I feel certain Dylan could have received many offers being a very high profile recruit.

We have a long list of guys we couldn't get here no matter what. But we did land him- and from out of state- a rare- rare-rare thing in South Carolina history with the highest profile guys.

I realize you don't like Shane. I think the great majority of fans like him a lot.

Try to enjoy where we are at right now. Both of us could die a miserable death tomorrow. Neither of us have enough time to sit around taking the most negative view of everything.

The Missouri matchup will be the closest we've had to a "trap game" all season.

We will likely be favored, but Missouri as very capable of pulling the upset.

Hopefully having Wofford (vs. Clemson) the following weekend will keep them focused.

The times, in the last 30 years where the South Carolina Football program, in early November, already knows they are going to a bowl game and AND national analysts are talking positively about our football program are very few.

This is one of those years.

Ha. You're either trolling or totally delusional.

Your "bold" statements about subjects such as Beamer, Trump, Bitcoin, etc. have been 180 degrees from reality.

That view from the Foxhole is not serving you well.

Then feel free to make a bold prediction of what happens next year that would prove you wrong.

But you won't, because you ALWAYS talk out of both sides of your mouth so you can claim to be right either way.

Actually, it's time for you to make some calls which ring true because your record is dismal.

Please provide the data for your assessments.

Regarding Beamer and the team -- It's called living in the present because the future is never certain.

We don't make the rules for coaching contracts.

We're not the AD or on the Board of Trustees.

So no bold prediction on your end?

That's all the proof we need that you are in fact a coward.

If I had followed your thought patterns over the past few years -- I'd be angry, broke, and uncertain about my future as well.

But you keep on trolling....that's the path. :)

Deflect! Deflect! Deflect!

The record is clear. You're afraid to make any predictions that can lead to you being held accountable. Thus affirming my assertion that I'm the only one on here willing to make bold predictions.

Man, you've turned into a troll clown. Set your ego aside and enjoy life for a change.

There's a difference between a random guess and a prediction. Once we know who our staff and players will be for 2025, I'll take a stab at a prediction. Until then, I predict more posters will stop interacting if you continue to troll them.

So no, you won't make any prediction to where you can be held accountable if you're wrong.

No one is asking about our next season. You're being asked about your belief in Beamer. Which apparently you really don't have much faith in if you'r not willing to be wrong.

Where are all those Beamer haters?? Gone kind of quiet. You know who you are. Its okay. Just admit it. Confession is good for the soul.

To be fair, the same group of posters are here week in and week out. Only one poster ran and hid for a couple weeks, and it wasn't a "hater".

To be fair, it's hard for them to post consistently since they escaped the Alpha Genesis lab and been on the lam. Maybe you should try some peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. lol

And there's the poster who ran and hid. Although this is a bit more incoherent than usual, even for her.

While I am not a Beamer Believe, I do have to admit that this season has already exceeded all of my expectations. Kinda, a ... 'it hurts so good!'

I'm going to go light on the lying howling monkeys. It's been almost a month since they have been able to celebrate a loss.

But at least the "next year" line is now for haters hoping for us to suck instead of real fans hoping for us to be better.

That's progress.

You never really go anything but "light", ma'am.

I don't care what happens to Satterfield. No longer a Gamecock. I would have Holgorsen calling plays over him too. Or anybody else we've had at OC since Spurrier. And even with Spurrier, it's a close call. Holgorsen is a very good offensive-minded coach.

Lol

Of course. Your steadfast defense of your husband is all forgotten now. Never happened.

You were right to want him gone. He sucked, and you were one of the first to point it out.

Good job.
