And it seems it would be obvious to anyone with a shred of sense that this chute system was a disaster waiting to happen. Whoever implemented it should be fired.
Maybe I typed too fast. Someone posted that Cherokee County should have complained to the state about the I-85 construction. My argument is that the county didn’t care. Why should they care?People in Cherokee County don’t use I-85…is that your argument? Any county wants people to stop, shop, and eat. Is that not true of your county as well?

Because no county wants a road construction death trap within their boundaries, or I don’t think they would.Maybe I typed too fast. Someone posted that Cherokee County should have complained to the state about the I-85 construction. My argument is that the county didn’t care. Why should they care?
In my estimation, "counties" are not sentient beings, but rather the individuals who make decisions within them are guided by either morality or corruption. Not sure the status in this particular scenario.Because no county wants a road construction death trap within their boundaries, or I don’t think they would.
Yeah, it's an option depending on which side of Greenville I'm visiting. But, it's longer time wise, how much longer I'm not sure. I'll have to time it the next time I drive that route to Greenville. Is 276 an option?

In any scenario that is a state project, funded and contracted by the state, the county and its decision makers have little to no input. Any morality or corruption question cannot be directed at the county level decision makers. They do not exist. If you wish to raise moral or corruption issues, have at it, but at the state level. In my estimation, "counties" are not sentient beings, but rather the individuals who make decisions within them are guided by either morality or corruption. I believe it as well but Sen. Leatherman might better answer your questions about that.Long before my time paving & corruption became synonyms. It has its own trickle down mechanism.
It’s time for Hugh to go to pasture & try to be a stud😂I believe it as well but Sen. Leatherman might better answer your questions about that.
^^this^^I'll let someone else confirm, but I'm pretty sure the main issue area of 85 is to the north/east of the 221 exit. So if you're getting on 85 south from 221 and heading towards Spartanburg you should be fine.
HOWEVER, you'll need to take regular 85 all the way to I-26 if that's the way you're going. Business 85 is closed around Hearon Circle/New Cut Road. They're replacing several bridges. When I saw the announcement, I thought to myself that will be a headache for a few months. Nope, the closure is planned for TWO YEARS. Ugh.
FitsNews says it's because contractors want it that way: https://www.fitsnews.com/2021/07/17/interstate-85-in-south-carolina-is-a-death-trap-coroner-alleges/And it seems it would be obvious to anyone with a shred of sense that this chute system was a disaster waiting to happen.
