Should we make an offer to Colburn?

I have not seen DF play except in news clips.
He seems like a good ball player, and would certainly be good PR in state to save this jilted player.

For those that have seen him play...would he be a good fit?

A GREAT high school back....but I don't see him being the type we need to win in the SEC.

I do not think he would be a good fit, he is mainly a straight ahead runner. Tough to bring down at the high school level, but not so much on the college level. One thing you should note, a lot of high schools have DLines that only average 200 lbs. They are built for speed.

Only if we thought he could play the slot, put on 20 pounds and become an Edelman/Welker type. Which is possible I suppose. I find it unlikely he could play out of the backfield in the SEC.

I assume that means he has some skill catching the ball... I'd sure like to see us give him a shot. He's likely to have a chip on his shoulder too.

You people making the case for him being a slot guy........now I will say this, I could see this kid being a Ryan Brewer type of player for us.

Hate it for him, but no.

That's what she said.

I watched Matt every game this year and he could be a great slot player or as mentioned earlier a Ryan Brewer type player. Couldn't last in the backfield in the SEC. Good speed at 4.5.

There had to be reason(s) we passed on him to start with, so don't go offering him a schollie just because he got jilted three steps away from the alter and we're feeling sorry for him. I hate that he got worked over by Louisville, but that sort of stuff happens on occasion. Recruiting can be ugly at times, but the recruits need to understand that while they themselves are jockeying for the best fit for them, the schools are doing the same and if they see a chance to move up with a late commitment, etc, then things can change. It ain't over till they sign, and even then they still have to qualify.

My point is that we could get a ton a great publicity (the kind you just can't buy) if we were to find a way to get him on campus.
