SIAP Clemson Ohio State Michigan rumor

Dabo would have a panic attack at no longer having to play more than one really good football team a year on his regular schedule. I doubt he'd be "all in" on that rumor. If that happens, there will be a run on underwear in Dabo's household.
We’ll Bobby played it the other way then realized acc was the easiest way.

clemson coach is not good at handling criticism or stress. He would likely resign after a few years and go to Alabama to be a mentor to the players like Butch Jones did at Alabama after being fired from Tennessee.

I've been begging for this to happen for years. We have to play them anyway in pretty much all sports. Just make it conference games now. It would be glorious!

Dabo ain't going anywhere near the SEC. As things stand now, he plays one, maybe two, games a year they have a chance of losing due to the level of play across the ACC. His team has the freshest legs of any team when the playoff rolls around. Dabo has zero interest in the difficult schedule the SEC would bring

“Clemson will never be able to compete in the post season because they wont know what hit them because dont play anybody”

“The only reason Clemson competes in the post season is because they are fresh because they don't play anybody.”

Yeah. That is a kind of contradiction. Kind of like making fun of Clemson for being in the lowly ACC then complaining that being in the lowly ACC is the reason they have won national championships.

Yeah, not hearing nothing about this. How come Big Ten or ACC commissioner not spoken out against this?
If you go to Bucknuts.com there are several threads about TX/OK to SEC and possible B1G expansion along with possible candidates to invite. The basic consensus is that the B1G commissioner won't do anything beneficial. Most feel that he was so surprised by this that he blew past Fight or Flee and went straight to Freeze. Then paralysis set in.

If true which I dont think it is. The 20 schools should just have their own NC game.
BINGO, That is what Greg Sankey has in mind. That's where the big money will be, and that is what its all about. I think he has more than 20 teams in mind.

Set back, watch the show, see how it all unravels.

I described his reaction as the deer in the headlights look when asked about it.....both descriptions are pretty darn accurate. After last season's fiasco when he pissed off most of the conference's AD's and coaches, a screw up on this could be his short-term last hurrah!

Is this the same guy who last year fudged around on the resumption of the regular season (once they got pressured by other leagues into having one)? Confidence is not high.

So there is no confusion, what i am saying is how come the Big Ten and ACC commissioner is not speaking out about their conference teams (Ohio State, Michigan, clemson and Florida State) joining the SEC.

SEC lands the blue bloods, all the others will follow. College football has a new boss.

As far as the ACC, I have no clue. I called a few of my TOSU friends, one of which works in the ADs office, and they laughed it off. The one in the ADs office wanted to know where I read it, then laughed it off. It was the first he'd heard about it. Frankly I wouldn't want to be the President or AD who was in office if TOSU made the decision to leave the B1G.

Well, as far as the B1G is concerned. Nobody seriously believes anybody is going to leave the B1G. The research money the schools in the B1G gets through the BTAA is rumored to be 10x what is projected for the new SEC media deal.

Only a fool would give that up to join the SEC.

I call BS on that "rumor"!!

Think about that for just a second now! That "20 team" concept for The SEC would TOTALLY F-UP The Big 10 and the acc, and the Big 12 in losing OU & UT would be better off and better corrected by the mutually beneficial take over if it (i.e., Big 12) were swallowed up by the Big 10.

That concept in and of itself is a better fit from both a marketing/branding concept, as-well-as a better fitting national appeal in regards to the new "mapping" that a new Big 10 and Big 12 combo would so fittingly create!! Now that right there would Be the very best possibility to match what The SEC is to become!! As far as the acc?? Well here comes West Virginia, USF, Cinci and maybe Southern Miss!!!

Just my thought FWIW!! Y'all have at it!!! =;-p

I believe that Texas and Oklahoma will be a member of the SEC, but i just can not believe that Ohio State, Michigan, Florida State and clemson will join the SEC.

Agree. If I were the SEC commish, I would worry about the B1G commish finally getting a brain and spine and throwing the B1G's weight around and perhaps going after TAMU. Kansas is a no brainer for the B1G and would be easy pickings.

Until the B1G Commish finally grows some hair on his Jimmies, I don't think The SEC has anything to worry about.

While we are all sitting around and hashing this idea out, does anyone think there could come a time when the SEC, or whatever one wants to call the "power football conference", would kindly dismiss the weaker football programs from this conference in order to maintain its integrity? (You know what I'm suggesting here.) One would have to hope not, but these days it seems like money and championships are driving the sport and is spawning some ideas and scenarios that only a few years ago would be considered insane.

Who in the hell is TOSU? I'm guessing Ohio State University. Its OSU. And we are USC, not UofSC. Some of y'all, I swear.
