SIAP: SEC extends commissioner Greg Sankey's contract through 2026

No article attached?!!!
Just kidding.
Has there ever been a better handoff for a league commissioner? Sankey did things differently, and for a year or so, we watched. Kramer set the bar high adding Mizz and eATMe. Now Sankey has you, and Boomer Sooner in his 5th(?) year? Incredible leadership in the SEC executive branch!
As an aside, Welcome to the SEC my friend. I look forward to meeting you soon!

Not sure you should give credit to Kramer for A&M and Mizzu.

Here is an article:

"I am grateful for the support of the SEC's presidents and chancellors, and for the continuing opportunity to serve our universities while supporting the student-athletes of the Southeastern Conference," Sankey said in a statement. "We are in the midst of a time of change for college athletics, and I look forward to working with the SEC's campus leaders to identify a path forward that will sustain the incredible success of our Conference and provide opportunities for young people to grow academically and challenge themselves athletically."

As far as SEC leadership, I have mentioned before that I believe the difference in the way the SEC and Big Ten handled COVID was a big factor in convincing many UT-Austin powerbrokers toward the SEC. The Big Ten Presidents shut down the season in a panic with no consultation of the athletic depts, no experts, little discussion, just immediately mimicking the Pac-10. The SEC made a coherent plan, consulted experts, had COVID protocols and saved the 2020 football season. Then in a reverse panic the Big Ten had to turn 180 degrees and hastily late in the season play anyway. They looked like the Keystone Cops. That gave Texas a lot of confidence that Sankey and the SEC leadership was far more competent. Of course money is always the biggest factor, but a competent set of leaders will find more money long-term.
