Does this mean the Power 5 is history?
Power 4?
Not clear USC would have been willing to sign that. FSU regrets it.The P12 should have locked up their conference with the same GOR the ACC did.
Jon Wilner is a Cal Berkeley insider and he is probably the ultimate source who is tweeting this out.Per a source. That would be a huge shakeup.
Imho, the power 4 leads right into a 4/8 team tourney. But if the P12 tries to hold on, we have them and the B12 kind of being conferences made up of leftovers.
On a side note, heard USCw refered to as the University of Spoiled Children today. First time I had heard that. I about fell out my chair laughing.
Sometimes you've got to do what you have to do to survive. Both conferences are in a world of hurt losing the two top names from each.I seriously doubt a lot of the P12 schools would consider merging with the leftover b12 schools.

And all for the love of money. That is true. And I'm really only basing it off some stories the last time around expansion talks. I think it was Cal and another school or two who said they didn't want Baylor because it was Baptist or something.
Just going off memory from a decade or more ago.
The move to a separate division of four super conferences with 16 -20 teams each becomes way more plausible with this development.Does this mean the Power 5 is history?
Power 4?
Agreed. The move to a separate division of four super conferences with 16 -20 teams each becomes way more plausible with this development.
Or Power TWO.Does this mean the Power 5 is history?
Power 4?
Agree. And I can see a combination of two of Berkeley, Stanford, or Washington being next on the B1Gs list. Maybe Arizona, ASU to the SEC.The move to a separate division of four super conferences with 16 -20 teams each becomes way more plausible with this development.
There are all sorts of scenarios possible at this point. The one you propound deals the ACC out of any meaningfulness. Their only lifeline resides in South Bend and even that might not be enough.Agree. And I can see a combination of two of Berkeley, Stanford, or Washington being next on the B1Gs list.
