I was on the way to a meeting when at the top of the call in show tonight Coach Spurrier stated Pharoah Cooper was going to to sit out next year. Then I checked here on the board and there's nothing about it. Did they announce sometime later in the show that was an April Fool's joke? I hope so.

Seriously, pepsi...Coach Spurrier started out the show congratulating Dawn and the Lady G's but then said he had some unfortunate news to report. He stated that Pharoh had come up to him at Pro Day today and told him that he and his parents had decided he was going to sit out next year. Then he talked about there being some discussion about Jadeveon doing the same going into his junior year and that Jadeveon had decided not to do that...but he understood with all the money players risk getting hurt.

I mean if it ended up being an April Fool's joke, the HBC sure made it sound real.
But I am guessing since there is no mention of it anywhere that I can find...that it was some sort of April Fool's joke. Coach sure fooled me if this is the case. Todd went along nicely too sounding shocked and surprised and somewhat disturbed by the news.
Surely someone else on this board had to hear the call in show tonight.

Truth is "some folks" on here evidently don't know, didn't hear, and can't address the original comment.
What I heard was real....Coach Spurrier made it sound legit and I had to go into a meeting before the end of the show. Just wanted to know is if somebody heard if it was an April fool's joke or not.

I didn't hear that part of it, but I did hear Todd ask coach what receivers might be expected to step up now that Cooper was gone. I also had to turn the radio off so my son went looking for any info and couldn't find anything.

If it was an April fools joke, it could give some people a heart attack.

I only heard the last five minutes of the show and Coach Spurrier said they had to let people know that it was an April Fool's joke and Pharoah would be back next year. He said he was getting a lot of texts and comments and people were not happy. So you did hear correctly and it was a joke.

A quick glance at this thread tells it all. If SOS had been serious, there would be hundreds of replies to the OP!

Not really...allergies are kicking my ass. Thanks for the concern. LOL!
GW, the allergies I have every year at this time are UNBELIEVABLE. Aiken has to be the WORST pollen filled place in the country. I feel your pain !!!!! And I thought the PC story had to be an April's Fool joke.

If Aiken is any worse than West Columbia/Lexington I can't even imagine. It's just been miserable and if history is any guide it's sure to get worse.

Dear Garnet..........It was a April Fool's joke and Spurrier laughed about later.
