These taters kill me. This happens all the time. The radio show host will say I want a true South Carolina fans take on the upcoming season. Then some idiot tater calls in and says Im a South Carolina graduate been a Carolina fan all my life. Just being realistic I think we win 5 games this season and Spurrier retires. Im just being a realistic South Carolina fan.

First of all anyone who thinks Coach is retiring after a 5 win season is a moron. And second I like this team a lot more than last years team. Sawyer and Lewis at the ends, BAW at his LB position with Moore. Diggs at safety. I really like Lammons and Al Harris jr attitude and work ethic. Mitch has all the weapons he needs on offense to get the job done. Wilds and Williams at RB, Cooper, Googer, Davison and Samuels at Rec. I really like this team. I think we have a great season. Is it just me?

barring miraculous improvements on d and an unexpected all sec season from mitch, 5 wins worst case, 9 wins best case.

I think it can be a good season. In spite of how bad we were defensively last year, if we could have tackled in space last year, we would have won 3 more games. Outside of that, we had deficiencies at DE. If that has been corrected, and we tackle better, we will be much improved this year. I can't wait to find out because it sure has been a disappointing baseball season to this point.
 
We will have a 5 or 6 win season this year. Hoke is not going to be a magician with our defense, the offensive line is not very good and no experienced QB. When a walk on is competing for the starting QB position on a major college team, that is pretty sad.

I think we're a 8 win team this year. Hoke will make a huge difference. Not a shot at Ward but he was in way over his head without having lots of future NFL stars to cover up his inadequacies. Hoke is a better coach and will have more talent to work with, that alone will be a major boost. The D will be MUCH improved, maybe not great but average at worst. I'll bet anyone that Hoke, even with last years talent, wouldn't have lost to Kentucky and Missouri with the late lead we had.

Totally agree with you on the walk on QB but Spurrier has always played that card with the walk on / 3d or 4th stringer. It's all part of the mind games he plays with his QBs.
 
That is a loser station. It's train wreck . Anytime Mickey wants to change the subject to talk bad about anyone. He says a person twitter says. Etc,... Then goes on a rehearsed rant about the subject.

Then there is the planted callers that call into the show that act like other fans. Funny how they always ended up agreeing with Mickey.

then you have idiots that call in to represent USC that promote their websites and claim to have inside info. They offer free memberships and talk about 10 day old news.

First off, a walkon is not in true contention at this point. That's Spurrier psychology if you haven't figured it out yet. Spurrier is great at planting seeds. He doesn't always mean everything he says.

As for five wins, just give it a break. Your negativity is shining through bright and clear. This defense will be a vast improvement over last year.
 
While I echo the sentiment that only stupid people call into radio shows, the prediction isn't far off.

Spurrier to contemplate retirement after this past season do why wouldn't he think about it next year if we win 5 games or so? Is he supposed to stick around until we win 11 games again? What if we only win 6 a season the next few years? He's not going to be here forever. Hoke will be the head coach next year if we are awful this year.
 
The anti GC fans will say that your defense is still a question mark because you are counting on a bunch of players who have never played a down of college football to turn the defense around. Hoke is a pro guy who will have trouble defending spread offenses. The offense lost the only viable option at QB and no returning player has any meaningful snaps. Cooper is your only play maker and the OL lost too much. If you are a GC fan you can point to the defense being improved with the addition of a large group of talented DL who are destined to improve the defense. SOS has brought Hoke in and that has given the defense a boost of confidence. SOS is one of the best offensive minds in college football history, and he will always be able to produce a productive offense. Even with the terrible defense from a year ago, SC should have won 2-3 more games with decent clock management late and no turnovers. Time will tell who is right. I have no idea. But it is a Clemson radio station, and you're not likely to hear a lot of positives regarding SC.

You're defense should be a little better, you're offense a little worse, and your schedule could be a lot tougher.
