Five-star 2020 DE/LB Reggie Grimes II recently released his top-six schools, including SEC schools Alabama, Tennessee, South Carolina, LSU and Vanderbilt.

He was also considering Clemson, but that appears to have fallen by the wayside, and the reasoning behind it is fascinating.

Per a report on Tuesday, Clemson basically told the No. 3 weak-side defensive end in the 2020 class (per the 247Sports composite) and the top prospect out of Tennessee that it was full at both the defensive end and linebacker positions:

Dabo does recruiting different than most and it confounds a lot of us. The scholly he isn't offering Grimes will end up going to a walk on long-snapper who "earned it". It is what it is. All I can say is you can't argue with the results. I gave that up long ago.
