Taylor Widener sceduled as starting pitcher today

I saw in the summary of yesterday's game that Taylor Widener is scheduled to start today's game. I guess the reasoning is that it does no good to save him as a closer if we're down several runs late.

No problem with decision. Not being critical here, but I wonder if
he has closer mentality. I believe the coaching staff should see how
he performs as the starter. I believe he can handle this role.

His control seems to be off for the first batter or two he faces sometimes... If that is the case when you are called on to come in a close out a tough situation, it can be disaster! If that is the case against the first batter of the game, the. You strike out the side after that and pitch well going forward, it doesn't hurt anything!

I like this move I think he is one of the best pitchers on our staff and we have a pretty solid three man rotation if he works out as a starter. I know they tried him there once before, but it is time to give it another look.

He did a good job today! Held them to 1 hit, 0 runs, and recorded 7 K's in 5 innings. Will take that any day of the week.
