1. South Carolina lost its fourth consecutive game Saturday, 17-10 to Missouri. It's the longest in-game losing streak since 2015 when the Gamecocks lost their final five games of the year. That was also a year that included a coaching change.

2. Luke Doty saw his first real action, finishing with 130 yards passing and averaging 5.4 yards per carry (11 rushes, 59 yards). Doty becomes just the second true freshman quarterback since at least 2000 to throw for at least 100 yards and rush for 50 yards against a SEC opponent. Lorenzo Nunez in 2015 was the other.

3. The Gamecocks lost another game at Williams-Brice this year, this time by seven. In four home games this year they are being outscored by 48 points, which is already the biggest point differential at home since at least 2000. The only other year where South Carolina was outscored at home was 2015 (minus-15).

4. South Carolina's defense played well (especially in the second half), and ultimately allowed just 4.5 yards per play Saturday. It's just the fourth time in the last 16 conference games dating back to last season the defense has allowed 4.5 yards per play or fewer. Two of those opponents were Vanderbilt and the other was Kentucky.

5. Kevin Harris rushed for 58 yards against Missouri, pushing his season to 875 yards. He needs just 125 to become the first 1,000-yard rusher since Mike Davis in 2013. Since 2000, only four players have averaged 100 yards per game in the first eight games of their respective seasons with Harris's 875 yards the third-highest. Davis had 930 yards in eight games in 2013, Derek Watson had 876 in 2000 and Marcus Lattimore had 818.

6. South Carolina had 11 drives Saturday—six with Collin Hill and five with Doty—averaging 2:51 in time of possession, 6.4 pays, 0.9 points and 26.1 yards per drive. The two scoring drives, both led by Doty, averaged 12.5 plays and 60 yards.

7. The Gamecocks allowed 17 more points Saturday, which is the lowest they've allowed since Oct. 10 against Vanderbilt. The defense has allowed 274 points through eight games, the most allowed by a South Carolina defense through the first eight games since at least 2000.

8. Missouri out-gained South Carolina 301-283, marking the seventh time this season the Gamecocks have been out-gained this season in eight games. Dating back to last season (a span of 20 games), the Gamecocks have been out-gained 15 times.

9. Nick Muse had a solid night, catching six passes for 67 yards and is on pace to catch for 367 yards this season. If that holds, he'd be just the fourth different tight end since 2000 to catch for 367 yards in a season. Hayden Hurst, Jared Cook and Jerell Adams also did it.
