TV Land has pulled the plug. I watched it when I was a kid. If it is on tv I channel surf through it. But that is neither here nor there. Thank goodness Andy Taylor and Barney did not have that flag on their patrol cars.

Slippery slope folks. As long as society gives into demands so easily, it will never cease. 1984 baby. Ban ban ban, that is the answer. This will not stop, buckle up sensible people

Please note that the show has not been banned. TV Land made a choice, as a company, to not show it. That is not the same thing as being banned.

It hasn't been banned by the government, you mean. TV Land has effectively "banned" it from their lineup for fear of reprisal from race-baiters who care nothing about the content of a fairly innocent show with absolutely no racist themes than they do about the paint job of the car. One day, it was a perfectly suitable family show (as it has been for 30 years). The next day, it's offensive and has to be removed from the air. Meanwhile, the trash that is Hot in Cleveland is deemed suitable for TV Land's audiences. Ironic.

The tv show has not been banned. It has just been banned from being shown on tv. There is a difference. Que funny noise by Roscoe P Coaltrain.

So how is anyone going to see it? You need to buy it on DVD? Is Ebay going to ban it's sale? This is getting a little extreme.

You need to buy it on DVD? I dunno. I think Wall Mart nuked it. I have not a clue where one buys it. Did Amazon nuke it, heck if I know.

Just a good ole boy
Never meaning no harm
Beats all you ever saw
Been in trouble with the law
Since the day they were born

Straightening the curves
Flattening the hills
Someday the mountain may get them
But the law never will

What about Rochester on Jack Benny and then there was the Little Rascals and Amos and Andy. Who watched Liberace?

It offends me that people are protesting at 1:00 while I am working. Must be nice. At least it was hot I suppose

Can't they just blur out the flag or something? Do they have to scratch the entire show? The idea is not to promote a better future not get rid of the past. We are just trying to bury our past differences, not the entire past.

Makin their way
The only way they know how
That's just a little bit more than the law allows
Just some good ole boys, wouldn't change if they could
Fighting the system like a two modern day robin hoods...

Meanwhile ABC airs a show named "blackish".

The remaining cast of Dukes should sue TV Land for lost syndication revenue

TV Land should have the right the show whatever they want to show. You have the right to contact them and let you know how you feel. If they get enough of that to make them think the show is commercially viable for them, they may change their mind. But the show is not banned.

Don't be too sure about that.. It did have some episode with the confederate flag and had some wear confederate clothing...

So are they not going to show any civil war movies now too? I mean how far they going to take this? I mean.

Good question... Maybe when they show the Union it will be against ISIS...

The confederated soldiers will be gone, just like cowboys and indians...
Okay, here is my stance: While agree that the civil war flag is symbol for many things which include racism, and slavery, that doesn't mean the symbol needs to be wiped from the face of the Earth. No rational person is going to think TVLand is associated with the KKK because of the Dukes of Hazzard or Civil War Movie. We all see things we don't like, we all see people we don't like doing things we don't like and to some extent we all need to put up with it. Not and excuse for government to display the confederate battle flag in its official capacity, but at some point everyone needs to respect the first amendment rights of people at least to a small degree.

Maybe we will all wake up in the morning and find out there was no Civil War after all. It was just a figment of our imaginations. The PC crowd will now tell us what is good and what is bad in their opinions.

But yet TVLand is trotting out a new show depicting a gay man passing himself off as a man of the cloth...........and that's fine? This world is beyond help I'm afraid.

There was no Civil War, because there was no slavery. Now if you will excuse me I have to get to a book burning at Amazon.com

It's actually a guy running from a loan shark posing as a gay pastor. But don't let the facts get in your way. Don't want to watch it? Then don't.

Because some racists decide to use the flag as a symbol does not mean it IS a symbol for racism. And it has NEVER signified slavery.

It's stupid but since it's a private business they can do what they want. Likewise, if folks want to organize some great social media crusade to get it back, well, knock yourselves out. I used to watch it years ago but I outgrew it. Besides it jumped the shark when the Bo and Luke went on strike. Or was it to go on to Nascar for a while?

The one self imposed censorship I never understood was Disney and Song of the South. Seriously I think folks can handle it if they brought it back. It's kind of an insult that they don't. But again, their company, their right.

Maybe they will replace it with a same sex show so the pc folks will be happy.
