It's stupid but since it's a private business they can do what they want. Likewise, if folks want to organize some great social media crusade to get it back, well, knock yourselves out. I used to watch it years ago but I outgrew it. Besides it jumped the shark when the Bo and Luke went on strike. Or was it to go on to Nascar for a while?

The one self imposed censorship I never understood was Disney and Song of the South. Seriously I think folks can handle it if they brought it back. It's kind of an insult that they don't. But again, their company, their right.

Can't they just blur out the flag or something? Do they have to scratch the entire show? The idea is not to promote a better future not get rid of the past. We are just trying to bury our past differences, not the entire past.

My wife tells me TBS, TNT or whatever Turner channel shows the newer version movie did this several years ago and they still show the movie.
But I doubt a TV station like TVland would want to spend the revenue to edit all those shows. It's more profitable for them to simply drop it and replace it with something else.

Of course it will. I was thinking about that when Paul McCartney dedicated The Long and Winding Road to the people of Charleston. How many people remember that Charles Manson claimed Helter Skelter was about the coming war between blacks and the whites? The entire White Album was encoded with "the plan" for the coming apocalypse, according to Manson. I wasn't at his Columbia concert, I assume he performed Helter Skelter and no one thought twice about it. People forget.
