The Greatest Play in Gamecock History

Maybe it’s my age but I’ll always be partial to the Edward’s pick six in 87 or the kickoff return TD against FSU in 84.
Definitely the greatest of this century and I would put Alshon’s one hander against Bama right next to it. That catch made me a believer that maybe, just maybe, we wouldn’t have our hearts crushed again that day.

I knew we would win that one walking to the stadium. I knew we were good, we were in striking distance of Auburn two weeks before and probably would've won had it not been for Garcia melting down, but honestly that wasn't it. I didn't think we would win, I knew it, like some BS cliched supernaturnal force in a poorly written B-Movie about the power of belief. Never quite experienced that feeling before or since.

What is usually lost on "The Hit" by Clowney is his one handed recovery of the fumble right out from under the Michigan player who is diving in for the recovery.
If Devin Taylor hadn’t cut Clowney’s feet from under him…… Dangit!

I’ll never forget that play, the circumstances, or Mike Tirico saying, “South Carolina DESERVES to have it, and they DOO!”

Raynard Brown....
But none of them dramatically impacted the outcome like Jadeveon's incredible play when we needed it the most.
Maybe some of those Mike Hold passes from '84 are bigger plays?
There are none more memorable, imo. That one play got endless, national media coverage, and STILL gets replayed - they replayed it during the Outback bowl just this year. All you have to say is “the hit” and every college football fan knows what play you’re talking about. All of the other plays mentioned above, while great, can’t have that said about them.

I was in the stands for the hit. We were stunned by the measurement and then amazed by the play. Our seats were on that side of the field at the same yard line. Amazing. My daughter was with me and once Jadeveon went pro I bought her an autographed copy of the hit for her room.

I still think Kevin Joyce jump ball tap to Owen’s for the game winning basket in the ACC final was the best single moment.
I assumed the OP was talking about just football. If we are doing all sports Joyce outjumping Lee Dedmon stands all by itself

Do some of DJ Swearinger’s tackles count- even if they were called as penalties? Lol

I still vote for Clowney’s hit. After the crooked ref tried to steal the game for Michigan. That was everything.
