A pair of in-state wide receivers will be significant priorities for the Gamecock staff in the 2022 class. One is Clemson commitment Adam Randall out of Myrtle Beach, a player that the Gamecocks are not prepared to give up on anytime soon.

Another is Dutch Fork's Antonio Williams, who has picked up plenty of steam on the trail in recent weeks.

Williams' receiver coach at Dutch Fork is Jason Barnes, a former Gamecock wide receiver who has spoken highly of Shane Beamer on social media. Another interesting tie is that Williams' stepfather is Dutch Fork hoops legend Murphy Holloway, who played at Ole Miss, and as everyone will remember, joined the Gamecocks as a transfer for a brief time before returning to Oxford.

Expect South Carolina to make a big effort here. Assistant coach Erik Kimrey - a Dutch Fork grad - reached out to Williams on his first day on the job. We can tell our subscribers that new receivers coach Justin Stepp did the same yesterday, while reiterating the offer that Williams picked up during the transition period after Will Muschamp was dismissed was still good.

Williams tallied over 1,500 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns for the Silver Foxes during the 2020 season, and sources around that program speak very highly of his abilities.
