Some of you think getting great players from the portal is like filling a shopping cart at Publix. It isn’t that easy.

Guys go into the portal for different reasons. Some aren’t good enough to play where they’re at, some are clubhouse cancers, some are late developers and some are good to play at most places but are stuck behind a very good player.

The latter two are what we want, and they’re in high demand.

Some people bitch about who we got from the portal last time, but the vast majority contributed. I think CSB and the staff did a pretty good job filling needs.

The flip side, I don’t think the guys we lost to the portal really shined where they went.

CSB needs to mine the portal carefully, getting good players with the right attitude who can be coached up.
an asset, but the players, like recruiting first year players have to want to come here. Last year not many wanted to come here. Hopefully, we can get some frontline talent. We desperately need a QB and some recievers.

Well the Sooners just had 4 guys decommit over Riley leaving. If Shane would get an exciting name here to be the OC, we could rack up on transfers and guys changing commitments.

You can frame it any way you want, our OL is weak, our players looked slow and our schemes are garbage. They had their way with us better than they did against all of their acc opponents, that speaks volumes!
Not only that, but we didn't do any better rushing against Mizzou or Kentucky, so it's not just that clemsux was exceptionally good. We just have a terrible OL, which is puzzling since it is virtually the same line that gave us the leading rusher in the SEC last year. What is different? Could it be coaching and schemes?

Those don't have to be mutually exclusive.😉

Muschamp’s problem was not recruiting. Player development and coaching were his primary problems.
Some problems was recruiting as well. After Josh Vann we stop recruiting good WRs. We went after bad players in recruiting and let nfl players slip through our hands.

So, you’re the only one who thinks Muschamp would have a better record this year.

I disagree. IMHO we wouldn’t be bowl eligible with Muschamp.

I don’t think we were well coached this year, but I think we were better coached than the last couple years of Muschamp.

I thought our secondary coach did outstanding this year. Our Tight Ends coach taught his guys how to block. Our LB play was below average but we just don't have that much talent at the position. Staley hasn't done much until this year and that is coaching. We lost Green early and that hurt us because we just don't have a lot of talent there. We were so depleted at DB that we moved Brown to DB. Our defensive coaching staff walked into a nightmare and did a pretty good job all things considered. It is our offensive staff that makes me scratch my head. Wonnum has shocked me more than anything the past two years. He was supposed to be a stud Offensive Tackle and he regressed and that caused a lot of problems depth wise. However, I did see Adkins move people around in order to find the right combination. I think people underestimate how good our LG was last year. There was a dropoff at the LG position and that effected the inside running game. During the Clemson game, there were only 2 starters from game one I believe. I still don't understand why we didn't get our Freshman QB some snaps over the last few games. Has Beamer said why?
