Really liked his duet with Willie Nelson, Beer for my horses. He did a lot of USO tours and a favorite among the military folks. Sad day.
Sad day for any country music fan. He just cranked out #1 songs in the 90s and 2000s. I respected him bc he would speak his mind and wouldn’t care what anyone else thought. That’s refreshing in todays age. RIP Toby Keith.
And he so supported our military men and women.
Very saddened. My daughter and son-in-law had him in mind when they named my grandson Toby.
He was a country guy. Not like what’s being pumped out here today.
Saw him live once. Early '94 I believe and early in his career. I was a junior at Dutch Fork. He played at Carolina Coliseum with several other country singers/bands like Mark Chesnutt, Martina McBride and Sawyer Brown. VH1 was filming for it's one country music show at the time called "The Road". Toby had just broken his ankle at an OU football reunion game (he played high school football in Moore, OK-not college-but was a huge OU football fan). He came out in a cast and crutches and had to sit the entire show but you could tell he was a great entertainer even then. Had the entire crowd involved and sounded great singing his hit songs at the time. 30 years later I still remember it well.
